Thanks for watching!! What projects are yall working on? Do you have an idea for a comic or are making a comic? Read my webcomic: wipeoutcomic.carrd.co/
I legit JUST made two off-hand comic page sketches for a bigger story, one being a panel of two character's interacting out of my boredom, and the other is almost like a trailer page tbh. and I'm considering doing certain scenes and more as comic pages for whenever I feel like it. This has given me a lot of motivation, I wish I had access to my digital program right about now, but the device is in another's hands most of the time, but at least I get lots of time to decide what scenes I draw and scripting them to fit!
Bro this vid showing up in my recommended was totally a sign from the heavens. I've been thinking about making a magical girl comic-manga thing for a while but didn't know if I'd be doing it right or whatever, but seeing this vid really inspired me! thank youuuu :]
the way this video popped up when i’m considering making a comic…. i’ve always loved comics and drawing them! i’ve tried making webcomics in the past but i never really found a concept to stick with and continue… but this is inspiring me to try it out! thank you for sharing your experience!
Love love love your set up for when you talk, the swift change from each pose is so nice! also as someone who has been thinking about making a comic for the past four years this really helped me try to start the process! thank you :D
Yeah, I’m one of those people with a massive lore-intense character-driven saga to tell someday. But, uh, that ain’t happening anytime soon. Hopefully I can tell something smaller in the meantime! I have an idea about a girl who can see ghosts, which could hopefully manifest sometime this summer? I just gotta get SOMETHING out of my head! Also. Great video, it’s helped me think this through a bit more. Thank you!
Oh my gosh this video is perfect!! I am literally just working on a comic project right now!! T-T Also can I just say I absolutely ADOREEE your lil animated sprites?! Awesome video!! 😭
This might be a silly question, but I've never been the best drawer but ive always loved comics and stories. Would it be a good idea to learn drawing WHILE writing a comic? Or would it be better to learn drawing before creating the comic?
I’d say go for it! If it’s anything that will get you drawing a lot it’s making a comic. You could go for something with a smaller scope and would be easier to draw. Comic strips might be a good place to start. Art is really hard. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Even artists who have been drawing a long time get frustrated with art (me) and have fun!
@@Koispeck Yeah I tend to pick up drawing and then dropping it out of frustration but I think drawing a story would actually motivate me more. But I was unsure if it was a good idea since I see a lot of beautiful art in comics. It seemed like everyone mastered art before making a comic. Thank you for answering my comment ❤️ I wasn't sure but you have convinced me to try giving short comics a go 😊
uhh... would it be unwise to jump into a webcomic you know full well needs several "issues" and will take years to make 😅? I don't want to make a webcomic for the sake of making one, I have a specific story I want to tell artistically and this just might be the only way I can do it
Hm interesting dilemma. I don’t know your specific circumstance but I would say making a small comic that won’t be a huge time commitment is worth it. Since comic prep time takes so long you don’t want to waste time on your ‘big’ comic and realize the mediums not for you. Maybe consider what I said in the video a small comic that takes place in the world or a character backstory. Don’t underestimate other story telling mediums like visual novels or web novels. There are plenty of other mediums that take way less time.
@@Koispeck I did some comic work all semester last year, and I enjoyed it but it was also very humbling. I tried to jump into a large comic (mostly cause the prof didn't require it to be finished), and I only completed 4 pages and started 3 more in that entire time. BUT, I was also doing other classes full time and making it all by myself from scratch. This second go around would be a bit different. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm bashing them, but I just don't ENJOY those other mediums, you know? I don't get excited about visual/ web novels, and a lot of people barely even know what they are/ seek them out compared to comics.
