  • Here's a treat for my fellow game show fans: a very rare classic game show, transferred from an original 16mm kinescope in my personal collection, it's the 5th episode of Say When!! starring Art James.

    What a joy to see this! My young friends and I used to watch this back in the day and never missed an episode. We even created our own 'home version' for many hours of fun. Thanks for posting!

    Wayne Howell not only did this show, but he was the voice of Concentration in its later years and the Miss American Pageant for many years.

    Oh thank you so much!!! I’ve only seen two episodes of the show, the pilot and another episode. I wish there were more. But I’m so glad to find a new one (to me anyway). It’s shows like this that I wish I could make a comeback.

    Interesting! It's a rare show all right! I've never heard of it, and I'm a huge classic TV buff. Anyway, thank you for the upload! I love watching the old "What's My Line" episodes from the 1950s on RUclips, so I was definitely interested to see this!! Again, many thanks!

    Rumor has it that this inspired the show "Give 'N Take" created by Bill Caruthers.

    I vaguely remember this game show.
    Probably watched it, as a kid.
    It APPEARS to be a parody of "The Price is Right"; which at the time (1961) was an enormously popular game show, with host Bill Cullen.
    NOTE that Art James mentions Montgomery Ward --- a venerable retailer from yesteryear.

      The program had commercials, but there was space to insert local commercials to the program.

    • @LaptopLarry330
      @LaptopLarry330 Год назад

      Also, because of the Quiz Show Scandals, the FCC made it illegal to have corporate sponsor names directly displayed during the program (panel shows were exempted for a time, before this practice ended by around 1963).

    Thank you a MILLION times over for posting this. Don't figure out my age, but I remember watching this program on my days off from school--this was when the quotidian television fare consisted of game shows, daytime dramas (a/k/a soap operas), and reruns of popular television programs, particularly situation comedies.
    I also give thanks for the glory of You Tube.

    Where on earth have you found these kinescopes? Thank you for posting them, though. This was one of my favorite game shows when I was a little kid. I had the home version too and played it with my family. About 15 years later, I was a contestant on the 3W's with Art James. He was a great host.
