Great info, Graylyn! If a golfer plans far enough in advance by requesting a tee time for the next year during the open slot of August 26-Sept 12 (it varies) on the St Andrews Links website, you'll get a confirmation in October. Have to pay by Nov 30. Yes, use those future dates as the anchor. I did, and used my May 23 Old Course & May 24 Jubilee Course tee times to start my trip. I got to London first. Day off. Then up to Edinburgh. Did a practice round @ Silverknowes. Drove to St Andrews. Away you go! The rest of trip was to Inverness, then Oban, then Loch Lomond. The cost to book in advance was reasonable compared to expensive packagers: £375 per person for 2 courses. Please note: with the advanced bookings you have to play an additional course besides Old Course. I requested New Course. They gave me Jubilee, which is a great course. Challenging and beautiful (as Graylyn will tell you).
Thanks for filling in with more information on the advanced tee times, Craig! They are hands down the best way to go. Thank you for the continued support!

Can you slip the starter 100 pounds? That usually works everywhere.
