2 former IC deathstar SD70’s leading the neat late night northbound CN local L548 thru Belleville

From June 13th, 2024. Well finding myself with not much to do between seeing Amtrak 316 plus many frights trains at Kirkwood station on the Jeff city sub earlier and ultimately followed by Amtrak 305 and 307 which were running extremely late, I decided to drive over to Belleville Illinois to try to catch the northbound Canadian National local job L548 from Centralia Illinois bound for East Saint Louis Illinois on the CN St. Louis district. I was surprised it paid off too. After a while’s worth of driving around downtown Belleville Illinois in hopes of maybe catching a Norfolk southern train on their own line nearby I get back to to old former IC train station here in downtown at Illinois Route 159 then next thing you know, I see the train was already long since lined up on the northbound signal here by the CN dispatcher in Homewood Illinois, then the lights and gates at the road crossings just south of here start activating and going down, and then I hear the northbound CN train’s cool sounding horn multiple times and I immediately saw his headlights too upon arrival here. What a surprise. Had just enough time to get my iPhone out to get this Canadian National train on video for you all. Here’s the great almost 2 minute video I got of CN northbound local L548 passing by here at 12:20 am. It had 2 former Illinois Central now CN owned and operated “deathstar” SD70’s numbers 1017, and 1032 leading it back to back and probably about 30 cars in tow I would guess. Both former IC SD70’s are riding on radial self steering trucks. Afterwards it was time to head out of here and on back towards Saint Louis. Hope you all like this video by me.
