My favorite crossing. In 1960, at age 10, I went to Union School, ( out of view, to the left of the tracks ), and sat next to the window, where I could watch this crossing all day long. Back then, it was the Southern Rwy, and I saw the transition from F7 Diesels, to Geeps. Passenger trains were still running. Behind the schoolground, was the right-of for the Illinois Central, and right behind that, the Peabody Short Line. I trainspotted like crazy that year. Thanks for posting.
