Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 : very nice on both vehicles, the Chevy power wash the inside , the spray Alcohol to disinfect for your health. Now is the time it will give you clear picture of what you need to do ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 ; nice job .
Quite a cleanup underway! As far as the floor I would( and I'm not going on experience) wire wheel it & use the stuff they spray on trucks for a bed liner & continue from there. But this is your car your choice!
Used the paint strip wheel than wire wheel an rust convert an paint an for rusted parts soak in citric acid an water overnite than scrub an wash off than neutralize in bakeing soda you have tò paint it or oil it as it will rust . Congrats on the subs . Cheers mate🇦🇺
On both of mine i wire wheeled the floors top and bottom extremely well and painted them back the original red oxide. They look better than they did when they were brand new.
I’d wire wheel the floor clean it up put down some rust inhibitor and put down some kilm mat sound deadening and I would probably try to fix where they put the four-speed in make that hole a lot smaller everybody has to try to make the four-speed hole gigantic it doesn’t need to be so big lol that car is very solid. Be happy you got something that good. Keep up the good content
That is exactly what I was thinking I needed to do. Yes I don’t understand why people hack out the floor so big for a shifter. That is definitely getting fixed. Thanks for watching!
Just wanted to let you know that when I was16 I bought a 56 identical to yours same colors too . That was in 1971 yeah the engine was stuck . I paid $25.00 for it and I didn’t even have a drivers license but it was my very first car boy I was so proud of myself I got it unstuck and running . I just wanted to share that with you . Good luck 👍🏼 and I’m looking forward to seeing your progress also I’m a new subscriber
Looking forward to the next video. I'm currently restoring a 56 BelAir 2 door hardtop myself. From the factory if the car was built after May 1st 1956 it could have been orded with dual quads on the 265. My 56 was a factory Onyx Black car with black and white interior, that piece you mentioned on the front end, I have always heard them called Splash Pans, I don't know if that's what the factory called them or not though. Wish my 56 had been in that good of shape, I replaced both front floorpans and the transmission tunnel. Had to fix the firewall too, someone had a 396 with 3 deuces and a 4 speed and 4.11 gears in my 56 at one time.
Looking forward to see the continued progress on the 56! I'm searching for a good stock rear bumper with brackets to fit my '66 C10 step-side. I live in Andalusia and can pick it up.
I have one with this truck. I think one of the brackets might be missing but I can check it tomorrow afternoon when I get home and see. Thanks for watching!
Now that I see you identified the motor as a 1968 327, I can say that the spread bore manifold probably came off of this engine. The quadrajet 4-barrels get a bad rap, but are really good carbs and perform well. The small primaries even give a little better fuel economy and when the secondaries open, you know it.
After you got the engine compartment cleaned out, I could see that the motor has 283 power pack heads, so with the front mounts, this could be a 1957 283. If the engine also has bolt holes in the sides of the block, it could be any 283 from 1957-1961 or it could even be a 327. Please let us know when you look up the casting numbers.
Your '56 most likely has the original 265 cu. in. small block. 1956-57 265's and 1957 283's all had front mounts as does your '56. All V-8 motors from 1958 and up had side mount. Also, the intake manifold you found is not the original 265 piece. It is a spread bore intake for a Rochester Quadrajet and these were not available until 1965.The1956 265 most likely had a square bore intake for a Rochester WCFB or a similar small 4-barrel. I'm enjoying this video series. You have a lot of work to do to get this old gal back on the road.
Your doin awesome
Thanks for watching!

I have used spray bed liner in the floor of old vehicles in the past and may do that again. It would be sealed off then. Thanks for watching!

I bet that was a beautiful car when it was new. Thanks for the info and good luck on your build. Thank you for watching

That’s what I assumed as well after getting everything pulled out and looked it over. Thanks!

Aluma clean is awesome for removing surface rust , muratic acid also works very good , rinse well with water and let dry
Ok thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
I forgot oven cleaner also works very well and will take off undercoating easily
👍 👍
Wire wheel the floor and put some por - 15 on the floor
That’s what I’m thinking too, thanks for watching
Run a wire brush on the floor then ospho. Prime with red oxide.
That’s what I’m thinking too, thanks for watching!
Wire wheel and por15
Ok thanks!
How much did you pay for the 56 chevy ???
$1600 bid then with auction fees and taxes I’m in it right under $2000
Intake manifold is a later 60s spread bore , quadrojet type , not 56 original , they were square bore very small , carb was a wcfb on original
Ok thanks!
Simple Green will clean and deodorize the interior.
Thanks!
That is a mid 60’s quadrajet intake, it isn’t original to the car.
Ok thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
