    Another 'enlightening' video. I have 6.0 litre (CLEVELAND) historic race car that is going to go back to an MFI system (Holley installed at the moment) and these videos have helped de-mystify MFI for me. It would be great to see dad and son working on the nitrous system together. HA - not that I have much interest in nitrous or LS stuff - but always interesting to watch people figure stuff out. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

    Great job showing and explaining these components once again! What State are you in? I'm in NY. I too am trying to get my car back together to enjoy my hobby of 1/4 mile Drag Racing. With the prices of everything going up so fast lately it really keeps pushing the completion Date further down the road.
    I called Ron's Fuel Injection to ask about the cost and street-ability of their "Flying Toilet", but the guy said they're not easily made street-able and the kit cost about $ 2,200.00. At least he was honest which I appreciate. It would be nice if they would add more circuits and have a street version, sort of like a modernized Rochester Fuel Injection which was made for the street. I guess I will just have to keep on depending on my simple and affordable Holley Double-Pumper carburetor for now.
    Thank you again and I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future. God Bless you, my friend.

      I am in Florida. Transplanted from Cleveland, Ohio 45 years ago.. I agree, prices are crazy for every little thing. Daughter is still in college, so small steps toward completion. It's a race between that and the grave at this point... Cheers!

    When you showed the idle hole , how is fuel getting past the barrel for your idle? I am assuming the diameter of the round hole is your idle flow and most is going through your bypass back to the tank . But how is the idle fuel getting to the injector?
    I have an enderle 4 port I'm setting up for street use..... Love your videos

      The ramp on the spool feeding the nozzles is never totally closed off like the idle bypass is. The “leak down “ rate you set allows for that % of fuel to continue flowing to the nozzles at idle. Go watch part2 of my series.

    Is it possible to have twin tanks on your car, and when you pull up to a race, switch over to alcohol or nitro, and another control to knock down the bypass so you got your 1.8:1 or so air: fuel ratio got through, and race on the nitro/alcohol?
    I know it is humanly possible. It's far more fun than the idea of nitrous oxide, and would sound FAR cooler.
    Procedure: (from cockpit) switch over fuel system to super-rich jetting and flip supply to pressure pump so it is using the nitro tank, then run it from there for the race, then switch back for normal street driving.
    Your system would have to have a big volume capacity, but it would be the ultimate sleeper setup.

      Just have 2 setups on the same engine and have 2 electric solenoids/servos to turn fuel on/off of each one to switch lol

    This is the exact information I've been looking for, for a alky sprint car engine. This engine is for a vintage sprint car so it's not any big HP. #%) cu. in. stock heads but a 500 lift cam. on alky. Does it make a difference on what size nozzles to use., and what size do you recommend. Great video, and thank you.

      I discuss nozzle sizing in a couple segments in my fuel injection series. I suggest that you watch them in order. You will know the tricks to selecting the right nozzles. Cheers

    Great video ! Thanks for sharing. Question... if the little round hole goes nowhere except out the low speed bypass, how does the engine idle?

    • @digitaloverdrivesystems
      @digitaloverdrivesystems  11 месяцев назад +2

      Because it then goes to the idle bypass poppet, which is basically acting as a pressure regulator. I discussed it in more detail in part 3 I think. The poppet can be set to maintain pressure on the barrel valve and at idle, about 20% leaks around the spool to feed a little fuel to the nozzles. Hope that helps. Keep watching. Thanks for the comment. Please subscribe if you haven't. Cheers!
