Beautiful work! I'm new to chair making and while I've know about the glue, let dry, re-glue on mitres, I haven't done it on any end grain glue ups. Instead, I've relied on glue in the mortise and on the tenon to do the heavy lifting. I noticed you didn't put glue in the mortise. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the strength of one approach over the other (no chair I've built is over a year old so I can't say what the long term holding power of my approach will be). Thanks and again, great work!
Hi, and thank you for your comment. The most important thing is to apply glue into the mortises, as they bear the greatest stress, just as you mentioned. It might not be entirely clear in the video, but I also applied glue to all the mortises. Wood expands and contracts depending on humidity levels, which is why I applied glue to the miters as well, as shown in the video. In the Nordic countries, humidity variations are significant, and if glue isn’t applied “twice,” the miter joint may slightly open over time. While the domino joint will hold even if the miter joint opens a bit, this method also ensures the aesthetic side is preserved.
Nice work. Good you didn't call this DIY :D Edit: Ah, I realised you did with a #DIY. Nice DIY with your kind of equipment - most will definitely can do same stuff at home.
Thanks! I have been using the chairs for about 4 months and there is no problem. If I remember correctly, I drilled a 5 or 5.5mm hole and used M6 screws. The hole is tight and the screws made the threads in the hole.
Beautiful work! I like the sound of the tools with music, but perhaps turn the music down a wee bit or just use instrumental music. The singing is a little distracting. 😊
hey, here are the approximate dimensions of the chair: seat height 470 mm, seat depth 450 mm, chair depth 590 mm, chair height 745 mm, chair width 550 mm, armrest/backrest height 685 - 745 mm
Классный стул. Отличная работа.

@Veisalm thank you, I appreciate your reply and insight!

Maravilloso...
Nicely done. Can the back support really hold?

Before this video I never really appreciated how much extra work goes into a taking a chair from basic to amazing.
Amazing work.

can you make a video how you made the clamping mold at 0:57
Hello! I'm sorry, but I didn't film that part at all.
Beautiful work! I like the sound of the tools with music, but perhaps turn the music down a wee bit or just use instrumental music. The singing is a little distracting. 😊
Thanks for the comment. There have been comments about the music in the past, so I will also publish videos without music in the future 🙌🏽
Супер!!!

Very nice! Do you sell plans for these?
Thank you! I'm sorry, but the plans are not for sale.

Eres tan amable de escribir las dimenciones?

Nice build but I'm not seeing any real skill just towels and domino joints and a total reliance on power tools but nice build though
👌🏽
Take no notice.. guy's jealous. Fantastic design and construction ❤
The skill is knowing how to use the tools and machinery. This is a professional workshop, not some hobby woodworker. Speaking as a joiner.
Jealous much? Haha
