- Another version of the beautiful piece by David L. Brunner with just the piano accompaniment. This was one of the final run-throughs in the afternoon prior to the evening concert. I'm still amazed that these talented students had never sung this piece until 3 days prior.
I remember this like it was yesterday! Dr. Snow was an amazing clinician.... its because of her and Dr. Jessop from TMEA Mixed Choir 2008 that I am now a choral director! Best TMEA years were 2007-2009 in my opinion (because I got to experience it lol)
9 years later and I still keep coming back.
This video has 8,400 views and I think 8,000 of them are from me... It never ceased to amaze me when people from all different walks of life and all different backgrounds come together for one reason... to create something truly incredible. This is the most beautiful song I've heard on RUclips. It moves me like nothing else can. ESPECIALLY the women's part at 2:15.. GREAT WORK TEXAS!!! KEEP MAKING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!
We are singing this tomorrow in our concert!! Soooo pumped. Wish us luck!
This piece has been one of my favorite compositions for last nine years or so, and this particular performance has moved me ever since I first saw it. Watching it now for the first time in years has moved me immensely and makes me so thankful for music and how much it adds to my life. I am in need of music, indeed.
This was one of my favorite piece in high school. Its so easy to get pulled into and just loose yourself in the sound of the choir. It will always be one of my favorites.
This is honestly one of the most beautiful things that I have ever heard in my life. You guys are absolutely amazing! We're singing this in my choir and I can only wish that we will sound as good as this. :)
I love this piece...it touches my soul! Our HS choir performed it for contest and received a Division I rating 2 weeks ago. The close harmony is so beautiful!
I love the amount of concentration in a REHEARSAL!
This is just... perfection.
Thank you for posting this. Decent choral music is hard to find around my area, and I thank my lucky stars for RUclips and people like you willing to post these gems.
this is probably the most beautiful thing i have ever heard in my life. this year is deffinately my year for all state! go texas all state :)
I still love watching this.
such a gorgeous piece of music. I can't wait to sing this song!
This is my favorite part in the song! We're singing it in all state and I'm so excited!!!
my little brother said the concert was amazing......he made 2nd chair tenor 1from region 23....so proud...
Wow. Utah All-State is about to take on this piece... I hope we give it the justice that it deserves--the justice that Texas gave to it . Well done.
THE BEST VERSION EVER !!!!! I wish I could learn conducting with that teacher. She sooooooo good ! Someone know her ?
Her Name is Dr. Sandra Snow of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI
Recently I have had the privilege to sing this piece under the direction of Brunner himself. I think it's a beautifully written song. The piano part is absolutely gorgeous, and each part is written perfectly for this amazing text.
I agree. It is so easy to get into the emotion of the piece. We did this at Carnegie Hall in 2007 with Brunner. He is such a cool guy.
I am in love with this director. I like the way she way she conveys the emotion with her body.
Our college choir is singing this in concert a week from this sunday. It's going to be badass. :)
beautiful
BEAUTIFUL!!
Gonna do this song with nj all state in the fall with Dr. Snow, funnily enough. Hope we sound good lol.
End result: we did
well done!!!
This is freakin heartwarming!!!!!! (So I got 4th Chair Pre-Area, so I guess area can go either way. I'm nervous!)
In the choir im in we used this as cite reading...I love cite reading now ^__^
Beautiful! :)
Angels sounds...
my middle school is doing this song in april. (:
My high school choir sung this for adjudication
It's ironic, 'cause that magic is made by harmony.
