- Steve McClure heads to Rubicon in the Peak District to revisit 'Let The Tribe Increase'. Originally graded as 7c+ when Steve first climbed it, it has since been upgraded to 8a, therefore a repeat would mean it becomes Steve's 1000th 8a (and above) grade! Find out all about Steve's journey to a thousand, how he has documented them all and why this one climb is so meaningful to him.
Niall Grimes heads over to watch and interview Steve.

I feel like Steve is the GOAT of UK climbing. Sure, others have climbed harder but his longevity, humility, and good nature put him at the top of my list. ❤
Steve I wish you another thousand 8a, congratulations from Poland. Much happiness and health.
Steve has such genuine feel good energy about him. No matter what level you climb at, he's a guy who just seems to get everyone psyched and he seems to have the same level of fun/appreciation no matter the grade. Thank you, Steve, you're a great role model!
I still remember watching Steve do his first 8 (Zeke the Freak, 8b). After he hit the crux right hand pinch with total laser precision, I had a feeling he was just getting started.
Dude, as someone who's still early on in my climbing career and only has ~600ish pitches under my belt, I couldn't imagine having sent 1000 pitches of 8a/5.13b. that's my lifetime goal for sport grade 😅
Still climbing so strong, phenomenal. thanks guys
“Your shoes are tied!” Laughed out loud!! 😂

''Having a good time on it ,that's all that counts.'' Correct.
