- Here at Eden Green Technology, our Head of Horticulture, Aaron Fields, leads our team of vertical farmers to grow and harvest the freshest, safest and healthiest produce for our local community. In this episode of Spill The Greens, Aaron explains the difference between organic farming and vertical farming. While vertical farming may not be always be considered textbook "organic," there's evidence that proves why hydroponic vertical farming is just as beneficial, and sometimes even safer, for our planet and the people we feed.

Could you please show your hydroponic system with details.
@@sanjanasilva7 don’t waste your time it’s shit. No need for all that state of the art equipment. They’re growing green not making medicine in a lab. I’ll show it a setup and you can pay very little money compared to there 10 million dollar greenhouse
This method is 100% dependent on Chemical Fertiliser and energy-intensive for temperature regulation.
Then you put a few leaves of them in a clear plastic box that is not even recyclable.
Then you claim its chemical-free, clean, and environmentally friendly.
So if I understood this right , it's not organic by definition. I'm a proponent of all types of farming as you described "organic is what it means to you". I'm not knocking the video our the content.
While I feel there's a space in the market for hydroponics, the benefits of traditional organic farming offers a fundamental symbiosis in nature that hydroponics can not. Commercial farming is a corrupt and regulated industry which doesn't serve the longevity of our delicate ecosystem or man.
Very inspiring. I live in Australia and wish there was companies with this initiative.
how about the nutrients of your lettuces are they pure organic?
i doubt it
And where can I find your products ?
This is just a big ad, no organic nothing
i would do anything for my own greenhouse lol i just want 2000 square feet and cant rain the 800 grand I need
What is the company and model of roof top grow lights used for lettuce?
My trouble with these growing methods is that I don't only eat lettuce or leafy greens I need other items to my diet.
Beautiful visuals and production quality. Well done Aaron (Dare i say, you are outstanding in your) Fields!
Thank you so much 😊
Just getting started here! We are using a small NFT system and starting with 4 channels. Is there an ALL organic nutrient option for this?
Is it organic?
Can someone buy this system to use in another state?
Where is this located?
Wooooow
What about the taste ?!
Fantastic video, great ideas and concepts. I absolutely love it. I would like to ask a question if that’s ok. I noticed you packed these fresh organic greens into a plastic container. Is there anyway of not using a plastic container or is this the best way currently to keep the produce fresher for longer? I’m just wondering if you have looked into an alternative (if there is one). Great work 👍
Hi Scott, in the next five years they will be making lots of plastic products out of fungi, mycelium...I really dislike these one-off plastic products too and don't buy them often because of this issue
@@martysgarden super, thanks for the information. It will be great when they bring out this new plant based packaging, thanks for taking the time to write to my question 👍
@@scottfrancis9363 your welcome
Can we grow more than just greens??
We can grow peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, snap peas, and flowers along with the standard lettuces, superfoods like kale, and herbs.
