That's an excellent size. We have two; in power outages or when our regular refrigerator opted for early retirement, we moved our food into them until our new kitchen refrigerator was delivered, and didn't lose anything. Now, one is on light duty (set to 50F) and holds a supply of nuts in the cool dark so they don't get rancid. The other one is kept around 12F, and we put new bags of flour, rice, and similar things in it for a few days to kill any bug eggs that might be in the bag before storing them in airtight buckets until we use them.
I enjoyed this video. Good to see a beginners perspective haha. Welcome to the 12v fridge club. They are awesome! There's a little learning curve but you'll pick it up quick. I set my fridges to 37 or 38 usually.
I heard that dc plug will fall out while in the vehicle. Jasonoid, and others, recommend changing it to something like Anderson Powerpoles or other appropriate connector. I went with the ICECO VL45 and had the same plug. I ditched it immediately. I ran my fridge on a 12v, 100ah power station I built. It ran for about 5 days and got to 60%. They are pretty efficient.
Awesome decision I have two 64quart BODEGA dual freezers they sip energy hold alot of my meat getting a third one the way to go to save lots of power 🔋 and run by solar 247! Enjoy
This comment made me realize that I didn't put that it was a collab with a vendor. ha. Had to go update that asap. I have a cool idea for an upcoming video using this fridge and a power station so that will be cool!!
As you turn it on and all the talking you do sounds just like my inner conversations i have when starting a new project. You are excellent at working thru a task and sharing . thank you good info
Thats pretty cool, yeah Im not the biggest fan of unboxing videos but I must say that I enjoy mine lol. I dont do them often but maybe I should just because teh native thoughts that happen can be helpful to folks. Greatly appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!! Hope to see you in the comments again.
@AskIveSolar I like the freezer combo for travel mainly. Prep meals and heat them up (with my camping stoves if needed). I'm just buying gas, hitting the restroom and dipping...saving those coins at the stops lol.
I have a contact person for them, after I Get the lay of the land with this one, I may see if they want to work together, maybe I will get a 32qt since I have a bigger one with this one. What do you use your fridge for?
The ac vs dc efficiency gains can also be found in the solar generator it’s self. For example, BLUETTI’ s ac200max uses 5.6 watts when at idle with dc on. The same machine uses 21 watts at idle with just ac on.
Hi Ive I have a Setpower 47qt RV45S about April 2022. I love it. I use it for an extra refrigerator, keeping water, drinks, snacks and etc. Mine is either a freezer or refrigerator. It comes in handy when the lights go out...or worse!!
@@AskIveSolar I want a stand up model but I like it for travel. If I go somewhere it would probably be in the second row seats. I need to take measurements to see if it would fit.
Wats good Ive... Warning ⚠️...you will be getting another like power stations 😂😂😂. The AJ 40 was my first, then a Bougerv 59qt then back to the setpower 15qt. Make sure to set the battery protection on the lowest level.
@AskIveSolar the 15qt rides in the cab and keep water, juice and healthy snacks like veggies and fruit on deck at all times. I replenish it from the cooler in the back. They all have a purpose but you'll be hero when you get that freezer combo & pull up with ice cream & popsicles. Game changer on hot days.
Bruh, you should reach out to Dabbsson to review their new 3500. It has 120/240. I’d like to see you make it put that work in. It would be interesting.
@@AskIveSolar There is never enough time. I do understand. Keep up the great content. I just finished a project I am thinking of posting. I came across a Titan (No batteries) for the low, low dollar. After searching high and low I came across some batteries that match it’s original configuration and chemistry. Snagged them for a great price. I added a Daly bms and it’s working fantastic. A lot of things about that generator are not being shared or exploited. It is so versatile. I’m gonna make it do what it do. Anyway, keep the videos coming.
Right!! Shoot but I dont even recall what we use coolers for, its been a minute. I wonder if DC fridges have the same cooling capacity as coolers, maybe they dont need power the whole time. What you think boss
@AskIveSolar the consumption of power is going to be dependent upon the temps around them. In cooler weather (I use my 59qt and 40qt in the truck bed covered by a truck cap) and the compressor will come on a max of 3x in an hour after rising 4⁰. I set them at 33⁰ and swap them out. The 59qt is more for traveling and not using hotel fridges & I have more capacity.

*looks around* it's nice in the DC fridge club. Took me long enough. Ha

I love the VL45
Ouch @ these plugs still being an issue. That sucks. Maybe there's an iceco in my future.
@@AskIveSolar Iceco has the same plug! I cut the end off and used the Anderson joints.
Immediate future equals “no clue” absolutely brilliant, I, too have no clue on DC fridges, but this video is fantastic. Thank you.
Thanks so much Paul. This comment means a lot to me. Glad you liked the video!

On eco mode the AJ40 draws 45w & I keep it at 33°. It used to be in the truck bed but the 59qt Bougerv is dual fridge freezer.
Do you give much thought to the size of each or just use them based on the locations needs.

I wanted to understand this but why did you use 5.6v and then use watts the second time. My brain just got confused. Ha
@@AskIveSolar my bad, I edited my post. I meant watts on both occasions. Not sure why my brain kicked out volts, rather than watts.

Love the DC fridge looking like a keeper. Nice review newbie lol.
😂😂
I'm a str8 rookie out here fam.
@@AskIveSolarYeah, but you listen to Jasonoid (and maybe a little to me) about these, so you're good to go.
Lol you will only get better bro no doubt.@@AskIveSolar
I power it with the Energizer 320 and the 100w Allpowers folding solar panel.
I still love my p320, solid device. The screen gets stuck every now and then and the flashlight doesnt stay on but its still a nice little device.
I looked at that exact same one.❤
Nice!! What do you think overall?
