I took the xtreme 4 back that I got for Christmas. I found "barely" any difference from the xtreme 3. I definitely dont see it being worth 300, and I also believe the xtreme 3 was and still is overpriced. Jbl is good dont get me wrong, but they are overpriced.
Does it make sense to overpay for boombox 3 if I plan to use it mostly at home? or I'll ask another question: is there enough power and sound quality (primarily bass) for home use of the xtreme 4?
Boombox 3 would probably have a more punchy bass profile with the sub but this surprised me, I personally have an xt 4 very good, in this I think bb3 wins but not by much

Boombox sounds less compressed and also Boombox has a wider soundstage. I prefer boombox here because how detailed the mids are. Xtreme 4 does have distortion on low frequencies. Boombox much natural sounding. I would prefer Partybox 120 over the Boombox 3.

I'm not sure what happened to your test my friend, in this comparison i tuned the X4 according to my taste and it sounds fine
