@fenifenizi You have to overdub to another bank. It's actually called Re-Sample. Whatever is playing in 1st bank will be recorded into second back along with any new effects or sounds from other banks, external source, etc. Once you have your new sample in bank B (for example) you can "move" it back to Bank "A" by playing bank B and re-sampling to Bank "A" at this point you will have bank B available for more stuff for you again.
@Superaids2332 Make sure you got latest driver installed and also set your kp3 to USB mode (Shift+7). To save on SD card you need to first format it in KP3 (Shift+1, and then rotate knob until it says FORMAT, then press it down, and down again to confirm). Shift+3 will let you save your settings and audio samples to SD card and Shift+2 will let you load them. Check out page 15 of the manual for more detailed info
Yes, i figured out what was wrong! The problem was in the settings of KP3, Press SHIFT+6(pad led) and that scroll to the "Loop" menu enter and change parameter from "1" to "2" ! It will make it look like this one! if you have any other problems feel free to contact me!
@73656 Well you don't have to stop playing source actually. I didn't have it connected to the mixer, so you'd hear both loop coming from KP3 together with the music and in most case it sounds bad. If when you doing live mixing, you'll be controlling all inputs via a mixer, so you can just turn volume of the source or KP3 down to achieve desired effect...
@Lucasasdf I think you can do this with resampling. I don't have it in front of me right now but I think if you press Shift + Sample, and then any of 4 bank buttons it will start playing whatever is in that bank, plus you can record over anything new.
@DenisTheMennnace Hmm, can you check volume of the C bank? Presh SHIFT + C and draw graph all the way up to raise volume. Other than this, I have no idea what might be wrong...
@owenpaulstory Oh I see, I never used "One Shot Mode". KP3 records one shot instead of loop if you press sample bank button before sampling ends. I.e. if you sampling for 8 beats, but stop at 7th, it will be recorded as one shot. You can either sample again, this time don't interrupt process or re-sample one back into another. I plan to do a re-sampling tutorial soon, but it's super easy.
@elliotlogan2 If you have amplified speakers you can just plug in Out from KP3 into your speakers. If speakers are un-powered, then you need to plug in KP3 Out to Amp's In and then plug speakers into Amp.
@andybarone1984 : you have 4 banks, so it allows you to play/mute 4 different samples at the time BUT the re-sampling function also allows you to gather 2 or 3 banks on the same one. By this way, the samples possibilities are huge ;-)
@walternutts Congrads, hope you enjoy it :) Unfortunately I don't believe there's any way to select which effects affect which banks. It's all or nothing kind of deal..
To save samples to SD Card hold SHIFT and Press button 3 (it says SAVE above it). To load them from card SHIFT and button 1 (LOAD). Hope this helps. I no longer have KP3 btw.
@grindoxsaurus Hold "Shift" and press Bank letter (A,B,C or D). All 8 number buttons on top will light up. But pressing on them they will go off and part of your sample that's assigned to that number (automatically) will stop playing. So if you turn off 5-8, it will effectively play 1st half of the sample. I'm not sure what you mean by saving/loading time. It takes very little time on mine. Maybe your SD card is slow?
@magpieking : unfortunately no, once you've selected a tempo (with the button or by auto-detect), it's the same BPM for each bank. But you can change it during your set by turning the button up and down, but it will change it for each sample.
You don't really need anything else, other than audio cables (KP3 has RCA input/outputs). It all depends what kind of sound card you use. Also I would suggest an SD card (1GB should be good).
@PixelvsNanobot Yeah check your cabling, draw diagram on paper (it helps!). You don't need memory card for normal use... In very simple setup connect audio out from your Korg (keyboard?) to "ins" in the KP3. Connect outs of KP3 to your speakers. See if you can hear your keyboard playing thru this chain. At this point if you record sample you should be able to play it back with no problems. Hope this helps.
@Wohlverine94 Honestly I never imported anything into KP3 from computer over USB. I think you can use software that came with it for that, or just record over Line in.
Super work!!!!one Question....is it possible to play sampled LOOPs everytime from the beginning???....when I press the bank button...the loop will continue to play from the place when it stopped before-thank You for an answer
Thanks a lot for Your answer--I know that thing , but I meant the loop....one shot sample is another thing.Anyway great clip!!!!have nice time with a lot of music :-)
Did you set the specific bpm on kp3 or just used auto detect bpm? Since the KP will use that parameters to record the loop, also if the bpm is really slow you won't be able to sample more than 8 bars!
thanks for the upload. just bought this bad boy yesterday. is there any way to choose which banks the fx will effect? like if i wanted my drum track to stay dry while manipulating the other banks.
It's called One-shot sample. I explain it in another video 1U3tfB1QiFI @ 4:30. Basically when you sample, interrupt it before it reaches the end (i.e. if u sampling 4 beats, interrupt just before 4th beat). I no longer have KP3 btw.
@bratan007 loop # 6? it looks like loop 9 in the vid. i'm talking bout how you are choppin up the blocks, it's like the same edit screen as the mixer screen. does that make sense i'm lost. also could you make a vid on saving , i'm actually blown away how long it takes to load a save. and how do you build your own custom program that wouldn't take forever to load? lol is this an overload of questions?
@bratan007 yeah, but in the video you are pushing the loops manually. from the left like the boxers show up like they do on the mixer screen sure i can choose each portion via the 1-8 pads. but i want to know how you disected the parts at that exact moment, you said something about not being able to achieve it if in sample mode. yeah, my Sd must be slow i went on some forums heard it's a common problem.... have you seen the new kaoss pad 2 and kaossilator 2? it's cray!
@acidstrawberrys You need "3.5mm Stereo Male To 2 RCA Male Cable". They are cheap, just few bucks online, or maybe up to $5 at radioshack (you might even find them at some 99 cent stores). Don't worry about quality of the cable (stay away from overpriced Monster cables), it will work pretty much the same :)
Are the FX (when you drag your finger across the pad in real time) only able to be used live (over the samples) or can you record a sample with a real-time effect that will still be there when you play that sample?
hey, can the KP3 be used as a controller for ROLAND JP-8080 or any rackmount/ desktop synth without the use of a computer? or at lease used once at home and stored to a card or something so i don't have to have a computer while performing live concert? thanks
Вопрос такой: Можно ли его использовать как полноценный лупер ? Он может делать overdubbing, может писать один луп, скажем, один квадрат, а другой - четыре квадрата длинной ?
hey mate!!have u already discovered about the light on the loop channel?i have 3 kaosspads and they really work nice..but in a while i dont know why..one of them starts to do the same thing as like in the video here...do u know what's going on?if could repair that?
is there a way to loop an imput and then keep layering over things? like...let's say i want to loop a drum beat from an external source (not a sample on SD card or something) and then loop a bassline from my microkorg or something over that, then a lead part, then something else, etc. would i be able to do that (perhaps assigning the entire loop at the end to one sample button), or would the limitation of 4 sample buttons prevent me from doing that? thanks!
how about recording straight to the memory card? how does that work? does it record each of these channels when you hit record or do you just hit record and it saves it as a wav file or what?
@ 1:40 to aprox 2:20 you show how to break into loops. mine won't do that. of course i can loop but not broke into segments, i've followed your steps i must be in sample mode. maybe i should RTFM ha ha. am i supposed to resample to a pad how would you turn off sample mode? i took my hand off of sampling button so i'm assuming that's it. hahha.

@Wiivified You can certainly save loop from microphone on KP3. But sorry I don't know much about kaossilator...
@73656 Well you don't have to stop playing source actually. I didn't have it connected to the mixer, so you'd hear both loop coming from KP3 together with the music and in most case it sounds bad. @nootyman5 I think Shift + F2. You might want to check the manual, it's pretty simple tho, but you will need SD card.
@DenisTheMennnace Hmm, can you check volume of the C bank? Presh SHIFT + C and draw graph all the way up to raise volume. Other than this, I have no idea what might be wrong...
this was so helpful, there are tons of tus for the kaossilator but very few for the kp3
@owenpaulstory Oh I see, I never used "One Shot Mode". KP3 records one shot instead of loop if you press sample bank button before sampling ends. @walternutts Congrads, hope you enjoy it :) Unfortunately I don't believe there's any way to select which effects affect which banks. It's all or nothing kind of deal..
@nootyman5 KP3 supports regular SD cards only (Not SDHC) from 16Mb- 2Gb in capacity. Make sure yours matches these specs
To save samples to SD Card hold SHIFT and Press button 3 (it says SAVE above it). To load them from card SHIFT and button 1 (LOAD). Hope this helps. I no longer have KP3 btw.
@jimdotkid123 You mostly use it with external audio. This is just an effects processor. It does have one synth sound, but it's not very useful..
@grindoxsaurus Hold "Shift" and press Bank letter (A,B,C or D). All 8 number buttons on top will light up. But pressing on them they will go off and part of your sample that's assigned to that number (automatically) will stop playing. @egg1111115 You can resample endlessly, layering new effects over existing samples.
You don't really need anything else, other than audio cables (KP3 has RCA input/outputs). It all depends what kind of sound card you use. Also I would suggest an SD card (1GB should be good).
@KipperThaDowag You can save them to the SD Card or export to the computer, but if you don't it will wipe everything after you turn it off.
@owenpaulstory What do you mean? They always loop, you can either turn them on or off :)
@Wohlverine94 Honestly I never imported anything into KP3 from computer over USB. I think you can use software that came with it for that, or just record over Line in.
@mousepad1123 Sure why not. As long as it can fit into sample memory slot (maximum 16 measures)
@nootyman5 Shift+Save, then you choose the bank to save from, press the number knob, then press it again to proceed.
@grindoxsaurus That's weird. You are in Loop #6 program? If so it should work the same...
Super work!!!!one Question....is it possible to play sampled LOOPs everytime from the beginning???....when I press the bank button...the loop will continue to play from the place when it stopped before-thank You for an answer

On 1:50 how do you get that loop illumination is showed up like that? mine just lights the grids around my finger?
@acidstrawberrys You need "3.5mm Stereo Male To 2 RCA Male Cable". They are cheap, just few bucks online, or maybe up to $5 at radioshack (you might even find them at some 99 cent stores). Don't worry about quality of the cable (stay away from overpriced Monster cables), it will work pretty much the same :)
do you got a video or tutorial how to get my vocoder working properly with the Kaoss Pad?
Are the FX (when you drag your finger across the pad in real time) only able to be used live (over the samples) or can you record a sample with a real-time effect that will still be there when you play that sample?
@CaIIMeJacky No it doesn't have speakers :) Most of these effect/controller devices are meant to be plugged into your sound system via line out
@HeartcoreMitRA Да, запросто! Каждый банк может быть разной длины
hey, can the KP3 be used as a controller for ROLAND JP-8080 or any rackmount/ desktop synth without the use of a computer? or at lease used once at home and stored to a card or something so i don't have to have a computer while performing live concert?

Sorry, I don't have it anymore. Never really used Vocoder option..
how about recording straight to the memory card? how does that work? does it record each of these channels when you hit record or do you just hit record and it saves it as a wav file or what?
cn i ask smthn! cn u put whole songs into it (ex. Pitbull) and remix them or only 8 bars ur allowed??
This is probably a really dumb question but do you plug the kaoss pad into an amp or speakers or what?
@bratan007 А какая максимально возможная длина лупа ?
Думаю взять KP3 вместо Boss RC 50.
@ 1:40 to aprox 2:20 you show how to break into loops. mine won't do that. of course i can loop but not broke into segments, i've followed your steps i must be in sample mode. maybe i should RTFM ha ha. am i supposed to resample to a pad how would you turn off sample mode? i took my hand off of sampling button so i'm assuming that's it. hahha.
Hmm I'm not sure. I no longer have KP3, must be Firmware version. Try upgrading yours.
@zero4384 Seriously? You plug in microphone and flip switch from Line in to Mic :)
if i recorded an audio clip (vocal, if that matters) i could put it on this machine a fuck with it much like you did here?
How did you do that @ 1:48? I just got mine recently and never saw that before...
Thanks for the vid.
@Leigh46 Yes
@OnlyPendulum Зачем? :)
Can you connect a microphone and loop your voice??
I haven't seen the entire vid, so if you answered it in there, can you tell me where?
Yes you can
I got a question , i do beatbox on the KP3 but i can't seem to understand how ican do layers , like recording all 4 loops then keep recording .
help.
@fenifenizi Yes
@mcrulez13 Nope, only few seconds (up to 8 bars)
Hey do thoes sounds like come on the pad?
@blackout2240 Yes
@OnlyPendulum Наши мне сообщение (не в коментах), какие части не понятны, постараюсь помочь :)
Can I record different tempos on each sample bank?
If so - HOW?
can the KP3 sample its own drum sounds?
how do you import such music into the pad? i only use microphone and hence my voice only! pls help
Take a look at my loop recording tutorial: ruclips.net/video/pgiyqfRR86I/видео.html
can u set up a keyboard piano to this?
how do i record my own voice using my mic?
just don't turn it off - you'll lose all the phrases/loops & have 2 load them from the card...
@bratan007 Thanks so that means im gettin the kaossilator pro!!!!!
бро что за трэк с 2:20?
TRACK LIST??? ;)

сделай видео на русском,братан 007))
nuyser beware.. sync in useless.. drifts all over the place..
