it doesn't work properly, see here how mine worked after a recon at 0:40 ruclips.net/video/ime-uOoiGlE/видео.html
The flap should close at the same time as you're shutting down the engine. In your case it closes a bit after you shut down the engine. Plus it should work energetically, not sleepily. The idea is that the flap should rapidly close so as to cut off the airflow. Without air, the engine can't work and shuts down. The faster the flap closes, the smoothier the shut down is.

So good to see you, thanks for viewing and commenting !
I can see it doesn't close right away it is slow at retracting back ot close position. Could this possibly be the reason for the engine jerk/thud at shut off ? I would be so so happy because it' has been ongoing for more than 18 months and has been taking enjoyment from out of driving the car, everything else with the car is perfect at over 197k miles, I have driven over 60k in the 3 years I owned it nad its been great apart from this. Also I am cpnsidring a new car within 6 months to a year and I can't sell it like this, it needs sorting.
I just don't understand why the thud/jerk started literally right after he poked bar through driver wheel area, turned engine off right after and it did it for first time,
If I get a replacement throttle body do you think the jerk/thud on shutdown will disappear ? thank you very much once again

@@Arounadabout I guess it was just a coincidence and I believe a new throttle body will sort the issue. But don't blame me if it doesn't :)

      @@fixanddrive Hi
I appreciete you taking time out to help me. I won't blame you if It doesn't fix the problem ,you are tryingto help and I appreciete it very much. Would a used exchange be okay over brand new ? Othwr than this I don't believe it is displaying any throttle body faults and if I buy brand new and it's not needed the seller might deny a refund.
on a scale of 1 -10 with 10 being worst how bad condition would you say the throttle body looks to be performing here ?
It drives excellent no power loss
      Thanks again 👍🏼

@@Arounadabout I would say 8-9 :). I guess a used exchange might not be a good idea. They last about 9-10 years, and these engines haven't been produced for a while. So a used one, would be quite old, wouldn't it? Can't you get a reconned one like we can here in Poland?

@@fixanddrive 8-9 out of 10, so I assume you think it is definitely not functioning properly ? I will look out for a reconditioned one and see if it works.
      thanks friend !
