    MAP fluctuations at 3:00 was concerning. Hadn't noticed such variations before. Time to use the ears and other engine parameters to be confident. Never saw that in T210. Curious if one of the turbos / waste gates are messing with ya.

    • @droge192
      @droge192 3 года назад

      Although it did look concerning, as the pilot sitting there in the aircraft, he'd have been able to determine quickly whether it was the actual MAP that was fluctuating (there'd be changes in engine note and vibration) or simply the *reading* that was problematic. Our friend seemed confident that the issue was limited purely to the sensor.

    SInce you're only having issues when it rains with the JPI, I'm inclined to believe that you're getting a water short somewhere in the wiring harness under the cowling. But, that's just a guess. I hope by the time you read this, it's already fixed, and of course, a new vacuum pump as well.

    You commented that you were “painting” the area of moderate precipitation. Unless I’m mistaken it doesn’t look like you have onboard active radar which this statement implies. There are numerous cautionary accident reports out there where pilots think that these can be used interchangeably, while in fact they give very different information. Need to consider limitations of nexrad data when using to navigate through and around weather. Love your videos!

    • @GaryMCurran
      @GaryMCurran 3 года назад

      Tim, I was going to comment on something similiar. I didn't think he had onboard radar, and the 'painting' comment implies that he has the capability to detect it himself. So, I agree with you.

      @@freshwaterguideservice I disagree. He said that this is an ongoing issue and that it only happens in the rain. I'm more inclined to believe that he has some sort of water intrusion in the wiring harness under the cowling. While the vacuum pump failure might have caused some slight indications, he has two pumps, and his vacuum, even after the failure, was still pulling 4". He would have needed to see the vacuum gauge jumping all over the place to have it correlate to the MP reading on the JPI. Since he said it only happens in the rain, it couldn't have been the pump.
