  • Dr. Stacy Sims is a leader in research on differences between men and women in training. She has spent the last decade focusing on how to improve women's experiences, life, and the correct approach to training, recovery, and fuel your body.
Dr. Stacy Sims is the author of ROAR: How to Match Your Food and Fitness to Your Unique Female Physiology for Optimum Performance, Great Health, and a Strong, Lean Body for Life. ROAR is a comprehensive, physiology-based nutrition and training guide specifically designed for active women. This book teaches you everything you need to know to adapt your nutrition, hydration, and training to your unique physiology so you can work with, rather than against, your female physiology. Exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist Stacy T. Sims, PhD, shows us how to be your own biohacker to achieve optimum athletic performance.
Women are not small men. Stop eating and training like one.
In this conversation we get into all this and more......

Wanting to feel strong in my body again. I truly believe that, for me the best approach is calisthenics and using my rebounder. I just turned 54, had a complete hysterectomy atvage 27. Didn't use hrt until about 3 years ago. I had to ditched hrt last year because I didn't feel any benefits.

This is high quality content. So much interesting information to digest. One thing I learned was to make sure I have enough calories (from carbs) before a workout to make sure I can perform well and the stress hormones don't spike, and after (from protein) to recover. Thank you Chris! Keep it up!

Good stuff. Very helpful, especially regarding fueling and menopause. I’ve read Dr. Sims’ books and changed my post-workout fueling because of them. It has made big difference.

Love this episode! Just wow this was an amazing and interesting topic for women health and performance! Lot of content now but probably with lack of evidence, this is just mind blowing and I think all nutritionist or fitness coaches should consider how hormones and women body physiology work to make life and fat loss easier ✨

How does hormone replacement therapy fit in with the idea that having estrogen can help build muscle? should older women over 65 or over 70 take estring to help build muscle?

It is annoying when regular coaches try to bring us back to be just like men even when they are interviewing an expert 😢
