You’re welcome!! So glad to hear you’ve had success at this pattern! Can’t wait for you to see what else is on the horizon with more magical tutorials ✨❤️
Omg I LOVE THAT!!! I actually worked on the Disney Dream ship for one contract as a performer, so those memories have a special place in my heart! Thank you for your feedback, it means the world ❤️✨
Omg thank you for this. My daughter is Disney mad (like her Mummy) and we are planning a big Disney trip for 2024 with family so I'm definitely making custom crochet ears for us all now. I used to sew them but I have since discovered crochet and this seems so much less stress to make.
Love this!!! I can't wait to see what everyone makes - I'm having a blast making mine - daughter is going to Disney for her 25th Birthday - so custom ears for all!!!
You’re welcome! That’s definitely a possibility, however the crochet cover of the headband does make for a bulkier headband. Overall I preferred the aesthetic of the wrapping versus the crochet cover! But I’ve seen it done both ways for sure 🥰
Do you find the ears being heavy? I went to Disneyland and they kept slipping off. I’m thinking it was my headband though so I’m trying the ones that you linked
Hello! Yes at times, depending on my yarn selection they tend to slip off on me, but that also is because I have a smaller adult sized head :) I'm actually thinking about adding some puff paint, or something similar to the inside of the headband once finished, so then maybe it will help with slipping! Yarn choice will definitely determine the finished weight of the ears! I've found that Lion Brand Thick and Quick ends up adding SOOO much weight to the ears! And also crocheted fabric has a significant heavier weight to it compared to regular fabric.
hello! Thanks for your question! So the ear measures for me at 3.75" in diameter, however this can vary depending on the yarn you use. If it's a bit bigger or smaller, thats alright! The end size shouldn't affect how it all seams together. Sometimes I get ears measuring at 4" or even smaller at 3.5", category 4 yarns are truly such a diverse group of yarns. I hope this helps!
Hi! Thanks so much for your question and tuning into my channel 🥰 So short answer is, yes you can absolutely use cardboard as a substitute for the foam 🤗. Long answer is, the ears will weigh about the same whether you use foam or cardboard-however, I tend to lean towards the foam because it doesn’t “wilt” overtime like paper based materials such as cardboard. The humidity/rainy weather of the parks and being placed in a suitcase/bag can affect the shape of the ears as well, so I like to use sturdier long term materials like foam! Hope this helps, have a magical day!
Great question! I prefer the foam to cardboard or just stuffing alone because it provides extra structure for the ears! But if you want to quickly make a pair without the foam you totally can! When you’re at the parks, all that running around and crazy summer weather can cause the ears to droop a little. Your ears will look amazing whatever you decide! Tag me on social media when you finish yours, I’d love to see how magical they turn out 🥰❤️
Sorry for bothering you again but I wanted to know when you do the half double crochet is it a total of 42 stitches or just 40? And if I do use cardboard how would one use the cardboard
That’s alright! It’s a total of 42, because it’s 7 stitches less than the previous round! And then you would cut and use the cardboard in the same exact way you use the foam. The video should show all of those details!
Hey! Thanks for the question! So I was able to find a quick (yet slightly overpriced) two-pack of one inch headbands at Hobby Lobby, but it’s in their fabric and trim department-usually on the end of aisle! If you can’t find it there I’ve listed in my Amazon finds through my Instagram the exact brand I get, and it’s usually faster and cheaper!
If you’re referring to the amount of repeats and starting at count for the ear based, it just happened to be the number that work for me as a designer when I was creating this! Also a favorite number of mine 🤗❤️
I'm nearly done with my daughters and mine! We'll be at Disney next Monday! Thank youuu for such an wonderful tutorial!❤❤
You’re welcome!! So glad to hear you’ve had success at this pattern! Can’t wait for you to see what else is on the horizon with more magical tutorials ✨❤️
I made three of these for my friends and me on a Disney Cruise and they were a huge hit! Great pattern, easy to follow, and worked up quickly.

So so cute!! Thank you
Curious though, why not crochet around the headband vs wrapping?
You’re welcome! That’s definitely a possibility, however the crochet cover of the headband does make for a bulkier headband. Overall I preferred the aesthetic of the wrapping versus the crochet cover! But I’ve seen it done both ways for sure 🥰
Thank you so much for this awesome pattern! I’m
On my third pair! Also I skipped the hot glue and I sewed them instead❤
That’s amazing, go you!! And you’re welcome! I’m thrilled you’re loving the pattern!
Thank you so much for sharing this !!!! Perfect 🤩
You’re so welcome!!
You should do separate videos for additional pieces like the villains or princesses
I think I may just have to down the road!!
These are sooo cute! I can't wait to make them! Do you have a printable pattern by chance?
I absolutely do! Woven Tales Designs on Etsy or Ravelry!
And thank you so much! I cant wait to see what you create 🤩✨
Do you think you could put them on a stretchy band vs the hard one? The hard ones give me headaches
I’m sure you could! I’ve been meaning to play around with that concept actually for the new year! Thanks for the question, tag me on insta if you do!

What does the ear measure like the diameter? I don’t think my yarn has the same gauge as yours.

Hi, so I have a quick question, Can I use cardboard instead of the thick craft foam? Or does that make the ears heavier?

Does normal hot glue work or does it have to be gorilla glue?
Normal hot glue for sure works! I just usually have gorilla hot glue in my crafting stash because I used to make wreaths for fun once upon a time 😍
Where did you find the headband? I went to Hobby Lobby and couldn't find them.

Here’s the direct link to the headbands from Amazon ☺️: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/26MN7ZLTLETN7?ref_=wl_share
Why 7?
