- The US government has said Israel may have used American-supplied weapons in breach of international humanitarian law in its war in Gaza.
The State Department says it is "reasonable to assess" that US-supplied arms were used in ways "inconsistent" with Israel's obligations.
The report, ordered by the White House, was submitted to Congress on Friday. It says the US government doesn't have "complete information" to verify its assessment.
However it says that given Israel's significant reliance on US-made weapons "it is reasonable to assess" that they had been used since October 7 "in instances inconsistent with its IHL obligations or with established best practices for mitigating civilian harm".

Weapons aren't provided unconditionally. If international law outlines the conditions and the US provides weapons inline with this law then that is not genocide. If Israel is in violation of international law, then a stronger case could be made for genocide. But you need to be consistent with the logic. If you simply say that providing weapons at all is aiding in genocide then you're in the space of making the claim that international law is redundant. It makes the breaching of international law look less serious than it is and it dilutes the case for legitimate genocide.
Not understanding the nuances in conditions outlined in International Law and the US governments position and just labelling it all as genocide should be an indication you're taking too much of a black and white view of what's going on. Given the hostile nature of conflict, it's important the words mean what they're supposed to mean and that

@@Gambit771 If Israel stopped bombing Gaza, withdraw all troops from Gaza, lifted all restrictions on Gaza, gave Gaza a billion pounds a year in aid, and no Israeli set one foot in Gaza, yet Gaza then attacked Israel, what would you like Israel to then do ?
