  • As part of Phase 1 flying for my brand new amateur-built experimental Kallithea gyroplane, I am doing a series of touch-and-go's at Camarillo Airport (KCMA). Today the weather is fantastic, although there is a cross wind at almost 80 degrees to the runway, but its velocity of 6 to 8 knots is not enough to ruin the flight. In tact the traffic pattern was very busy at the time of my test flight.
The previous two test flights, few days earlier, were done under horrendous wind conditions. When I think about it, I am not even sure why I attempted those flights - I guess I had a lot of fate of the gyroplane's capability. I fairness, the machine performed extremely well, but I am too new in the process of familiarization to risk it in such condition.
In any case, enjoy the video, and please give us a thumbs-up if you liked it... Subscribing to the channel will convince us there are people who enjoy what we produce.

The gyroplane brings you close to the action, at the fraction of the cost of a helicopter.
Please contact Peter (peter@lagyro.com) to learn more about these awesome machines, or to learn how to fly them. We offer introductory flights for those who are wondering if flying gyroplanes is for them. Contact us to make reservations.

Looks like a nice machine! Has there been any certified in Canada yet?

The Kallithea is certified in Germany, but at this time the plan is to have import it to the US as amateur built from kit. If a Canadian buyer comes along i will try to help as much as i can. Hopefully in couple of years when the regs change, we can certify it easily. She is an amazing aircraft…

After an hour or so of introductory training, the student sits in the front seat, and the instructor goes in the back

Open cockpit flying with the wrong headset could be very uncomfortable... What type of gyro was it?
