not to be dramatic but that’s the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen in my life and i’m glad youtube recommended your channel to me lmao i subscribed immediately
I am inspired by you, because you have been one of the only women on youtube that would spend their time making a video of you making something, yet you kept the product beautiful and feminine
Hi! Your sword looks amazing! I really hope this doesn't come off as rude but I noticed you not using a respirator while using contact cement and polyester resin which is really dangerous (if you were I'm sorry I just didn't notice it). The fumes that come off of both are highly toxic and while the effects aren't noticed right away if you are exposed to them to much they are very harmful. If you wear a respirator with the proper filters (ones for organic vapors) contact cement is safe enough to use (as long as the mask fits and you're cautious of the people around you). Polyester resin is also very dangerous and I was told by my mold making and casting class teacher that the fumes can be absorbed by skin??? (I still need to double check that) but the fumes are still toxic sadly polyester resin is very common in craft stores but there are other kinds of easy to get resin that are safer like epoxy resin.(It also smells a lot less) I'm sorry if any of this came off as pushy or rude I just wanted to make sure that you and other people are safe while working on costumes and props.
I understand your concern. And I did not mention the health risks in my video and maybe I should make a point to always do that. And in the later end of the video you can see my respirator sitting on the work bench. So yes, I do use safety gear (masks, gloves, glasses) when working I just don't always make a point to show it in my videos. I work with these materials more often then most and thus I'm more concerned with my health as I interact with toxins everyday. I guess I just assume people have common safety knowledge when working with grinders or train to wear gloves or masks. But I really should make a quick little note in my videos about safety.
You have blown my mind with how you made this and the shield. I didn't even know that Plexiglas was a usable thing let alone know about translucent spray paint. Bravo! Bravo! for some amazing props and excellent tutorials!
This is the very first video of this channel I have watched and it has given me so much more respect for cosplayers. I instantly subbed and I think this is amazing and really cool so good job. ❤️
So glad I found your channel, I've been wanting to make some prop swords for a while but haven't really known how to go about it. I think this technique could work really well for what I want to do!
This looks so amazing!!! Makes me want to make something similar :) Sadly my cosplays atm don't have swords or armour (although Giselle with sword and armour would be perfection
*shows up a year later with Starbucks* I got to see your Stevonnie at LBCC last summer, and omgggg it's so pretty! (And now that I'm planning out an Adora from She-Ra, this is gonna be super helpful for making the sword of protection!)
Omg it looks so cool. I thought only shield is translucent xD but sword is awesome. I made Rose quartz Cosplay and this tutorial will really help me make my sword. xD ❤️ 🥀🌹
If you don’t have a heat gun putting the foam between two bowls and filling one with boiled water works too. I used a cheap yoga matt so that probably helped.
Incredible piece of work, though my engineer eye says to add a 'tang' to the blade so it would actually slide into the PVC pipe section of the handle and be very resilient.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE IDEA I made it like this too! When it's ready I'm going to show you! I also made the shield with the resin technic! It's so cool can't wait to finish it!
This tutorial came into my life at just the right time for a prop I need to make. How is the stability and weight of the blade? I bet the layer of resin sandwiched between the two plexiglass keeps it stable.
I wound suggest to make at the end of the blade a piece for the grip to be stabilized, but I was searching a video for helèing me to upgrade my rose quartz cosplay and I found it!
I just found your channel and I'm absolutely in love! What you make is so gorgeous and elegant! I don't know if you take suggestions, but would you ever think about making Eclipsa's wand from star vs? I totally get that you probably have people constantly asking and saying you should make stuff though, I'm just happy I found another amazing and talented RUclipsr!
this is way less involved than i thought it would be omg. like i think even i could do it and im not rlly good at props hmmm maybe i should lol. honestly the effect is so pretty i could die ;v;
Okay I'm late to the chase but I absolutely adore this method and will try this myself, now I do wonder how much resin you'll have to make to have enough? :)
Love this tutorial! Amazing and will be using this for my Male Rose Quartz! As I'm UK, and Google is annoying, what was the thickness of the plexiglass? I don't know what 7/8 is :P
not to be dramatic but that’s the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen in my life and i’m glad youtube recommended your channel to me lmao i subscribed immediately
Awe thank you! I'm glad to see RUclips is still suggesting me to new people! Welcome welcome!
Monica R there are people who used metal, copper, wood, steel, and better and incredible tools.
General Berlin what is that supposed to mean.? why tf would you comment that?
Oh my gosh, how did I not know of this witchcraft that is translucent spray paint! Beautiful work as always! :)
I am inspired by you, because you have been one of the only women on youtube that would spend their time making a video of you making something, yet you kept the product beautiful and feminine
"DURT." the little one at the end is adorable.

Beautiful handmade Rose Quartz sword. both sword and shield are Magically Beautiful
I'm not much of a fan of Steven Universe, I just had to say how much I love this cosplay. You did a great job! It's gorgeous!
This is absolutely fantastic. I don’t think I’ve seen a cosplayer use plexiglass for a sword like this! Killer!
Dirt. Dirt is good. It's also a good word.

I can't wait to make my own rose quartz sword and this give me a idea to remake my gemsona's sword ✨
This tutorial came into my life at just the right time for a prop I need to make. How is the stability and weight of the blade? I bet the layer of resin sandwiched between the two plexiglass keeps it stable.
The resin kept it very stable. It didnt bend at all. The weight wasn't bad at all either. As expected for what it was made with.
Now onto the important part:
*GLITTER*
May I use this design and method? I LIVE the clear look
Wow this is so amazing!!!!!! 😍
