Good video lots of info on how they break them up - found that interesting. Why are the dates for Campo meteorites so far off from source to source? Some say it hit earth 5000 - 8000 years ago, others say 4000 years ago, and of course the discovery date was 1576 I think. Have they not been carbon dated? Is that possible?
Campo landed many thousand years ago. The locals used the metal for tool, When the Europeans arrived and realized that the natives had better metal and better tools, they were showed the Camo del Cielo strewn field. That happened in 1576. So that is the date used for it's discovery. Thanks for watching & commenting. Please subscribe.
Hey Topher! if an iron meteorite stays in a desert for about 30 years? will it still be attracted to a magnet? or is it rust that stays between the magnet and the attraction?
Most Iron meteorites (from Africa) have been in or under the sand for thousands of years. Canyon Diablo Iron meteorites are still on the surface (in protected areas) that are just like any I have for sale. That event is way older than 30yrs. Cosmic time is different than human time. Thanks for watching & subscribing! It helps!

Yes, cell phone bandwidth is a struggle in rural areas. That causes poor video. I edit out long stretches of "glitchy" video.
