This is the second time I've watched this video after watching it when you first put it up. I enjoy it so much. A nice blend of hiking and visiting some historical cities. Helena looks so charming do not blame Cassie for loving it. When we were younger my husband and I would see places like Helena and put it on a list of possible places to move to later and so enjoyed talking about the whys and what ifs of each place. You are very good at keeping your content so beautiful and interesting. Always happy to 'tag' along with you and also Cassie when she is able to share that time with you. Take care!
I'm really enjoying these little trips you guys are taking us on! But you know what? It bears saying that you two are a beautiful couple. Cassie is gorgeous and reminds me of those ancient paintings we see of Egyptian queens....she is simply beautiful - more beautiful than the depictions of Nefertiti - because Cassie has such heart in her eyes...and you do too!!
You're so good at finding the best places less traveled such as that hill with a view of Helena, even the expensive chocolate. I like Cassie's perspective. For the SUV RVing ladies of your community, it's a nice change. What a gorgeous hike; bridge and waterfall and amazing campsite in spite of the burn.As always, fantastic video and content. Am loving your new website. We are planning our trip to Tetons/YS with your resources. Thank you Tristan and Cassie.

Glad to see you had your bear spray at the ready when on your hike outside of Livingston.....actually, hiking anywhere in the Livingston, Bozeman, West Yellowstone area, grizzly bears can definitely be encountered!
It's always good to see Cassie and Bowser--what a happy little guy!--but my favorite moment was seeing your eyes light up when you tasted that chocolate. I love dark chocolate and ginger too. Thanks for all the great armchair travels!
Wow! So glad y’all found Helena! We have good friends in our church in Georgia that moved here a few years ago from Helena. They love Georgia, but are ready to move back to their favorite place!
Just move to Helena! You’d fit in perfectly there. I grew up in Helena, and you two are totally Helenans. Don’t worry about the winters, they build character and community.
I grew up partly in Montana, til i was 2-10yrs old, but I loved it! I love the West, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and California, Hawaii : ) and Nevada.
Jason from Maryland here Try headn down to Missoula, then take RT12 over Lolo Pass all the way to Kooskia, then up 12 to Orofino. The whole area is beautiful, great small towns along the way
(Extra comments): I really enjoy your tours of Montana towns & countryside. Regarding Bozeman, I have one interesting memory; in the late 1970's after visiting the Seattle area I was forced to hitchhike back to the east coast after a ride fell through. I spent 13 hours waiting for a ride along Rt 90 outside of Bozeman! I remember a giant letter on a hillside (M or B?). Since then other trips to Montana have been much more enjoyable. Great to see Cassie & Bowser having a great time. Thanks!
I love blueberries!!! Visited Montana during the blueberry season. Everywhere I turned it was blueberries. Blueberry ice cream. Blueberry milk shakes. Blueberry muffin. I WAS IN HEAVEN!!!
New subscriber! Very nice video of several towns in Montana that I've always wanted to know more about and particularly enjoyed the walking tours as this gives a better feel for a town, rather than the typical Chamber of Commerce type video. Looking forward to seeing more of your past vids, as well as future episodes.
I just came back from Helena about a week ago and was really impressed by it. It has a very nice combination of the old and new. Don't forget to visit the upper Missouri just outside of Helena.. Very nice outdoor area.
West Montana, North Idaho and north Wyoming among my favorite places. Helena is definitely a nice place and only went to check in the office for a mining company I briefly worked for but wish I had more time to look the place over. Eventually settled in near Buffalo, Wyoming but always took excursions all around the states surrounding Yellowstone. Glad you guys found a place you really like to settle someday. Hard to beat Helena. Great video!
We were stuck in Livingston for a week last year, the wheel bearing on my camper broke. The best place to get stuck in Montana. I hope you folks take some time to checkout downtown Livingston.
Livingston is a nice little town, part farmy, ranchy, part tourist hipster sort of place ,not too big , not to small , easy drive to bozeman, helena , missoula, Butte etc and yellowstone. But Helena is more of a non touristy sort of city, some of it's retail is failing (no mall any longer) but it's certainly livable , just no real air service.
Hello from Helena, Montana with a warm belated welcome to this special place! I was really glad and elated to see that you had come for a visit! I am a fan of your videos, love your content! Im glad also that you've had a positive experience here!
Thanks Tristen , I signed up to Adventure Know-How last week and have already watched all the bonus videos! The map of campsites alone is worth the price.
You missed a lot of cool spots here in Paradise Valley. I was just up Mill Creek this past weekend. Next time try Chico Hot Springs, Old Chico and Tom Miner Basin. From Tom Miner Campground you can hike into an area to gather some nice pieces of petrified wood. You need to be get a permit for the petrified wood at the Livingston forest service office. If you do go to Tom Miner Basin be very bear aware, the Grizzlies are in that area and people get munched on frequently there.
I lived in Helena, Bozeman, Kalispell-Flathead Lake area. This video brought back so many memories. thank you. I am still nostalgic about those years, yet at 75 Ashland, Oregon is my choice. Beautiful country, wonderful people...long cold winters....
Lots to love about Montana.. Please give Cassie a can of Bear Spray of her own.. Especially when she walks ahead or lags behind with the pup.. Love y'all.. Come back soon and explore Virginia City and Bannack..
Oh, and Tristan, if you and Cassie ever go back to Butte, you should go to the Mining Museum....they have a wonderful gem and mineral display/collection
I grew up in Bozeman! We moved there from Anaconda, MT after my father was killed in a smelter accident. It's has changed, alot. I lived on S. Bozeman Ave in a house that was built in the 1920s. Great sledding hill about 3 blocks away, 2 ice skating rinks about 6 to 8 blocks away and a city park that was a block away. The park had and outdoor stage (the city band had summer concerts) large playground and a city swimming pool. The shortest access was crossing a wooden bridge crossing the Bozeman Creek. Langer's pond complete with 2 rafts (gone now due to development). A lot of things to do outside as my mom would get upset if we watch TV on nice days!!
Adorable town, I can see why she loves it. That was a really full day seeing lots of cool places. Bowser is a little trooper!! Awesome video and drone footage.
Their is an awesome 100 mile mountain pass starting in Alpine, Wyoming down to La Barge, Wyoming that I would highly recommend taking. Lots of campsites along the stretch or you can make the trip in about 5 hours is which I did. It’s forest road 10138 I believe.
Helena does look like a great, beautiful little town that would be a wonderful place to call home. I've gotta get out to Montana, Utah, Wyoming, hopefully next summer and explore. Wouldn't be able to take that area during the winter......LOL. Great video, once again. Thanks for sharing.
@Brian Landers Give it 10 yrs and enough liberals like these two will have moved here to vote Democrat that you won't tell the difference between it and Portland.
@@tumbleweedking5668 Yea, just north of where there at is the Flathead valley Montana, like 50% of the new population is from California. I had to move just too many Californians there now!!!

Glad I watched this. I've been wanting to go and explore, get away from the mean city and enjoy the wide open spaces. You wifey is a real beauty. I look forward to checking out your website and your other adventures. Love the gps cords too! wow. I hope it's not over run with people when I get there.
you and Cassie did such a good job on the 3 Montana towns. My sister-in-law lives in Helena but she just complains about the snow and the winters - now we have a new reason to visit in the non-snow months. Thanks - keep up the normal human diet :)
Elkhorn ghost town near Comet is a great visit. The cemetery is a must see while there. It really gives perspective on how tough life was a mere 100 years ago.
Will you guys ever check out Kalispell MT? Population is alittle less but it's spread out and you have everything you need. I'm going to check out RV space rents. Right by Flathead River and lake. Montana is great, no sales tax! Also extremely close to Glacier National Park. I also suggest going to EWG.org to check out the water you want to bathe in and NOT drink! Helena is very bad water. Kalispell is very good in comparison. But no matter where I live, I always give my pets bottled water, never tap. Their little bodies are very sensitive. Hope you'll check out the EWG site Tristan, huge difference. Look up RoadSnacks.net, Helena is not the place for you. I look up alot of data and statistics for 2020 and Helena may be charming but listed as one of the dangerous cities!
I really enjoyed Bozeman the time that I passed through it. I haven't been fortunate enough to find myself back through that way again, unfortunately. But I know that one day I will find a way to pencil it into a trip.
My great-great grandfather worked for the railroad in the late 1800's.
