    I’ve been looking into the LG DualUP and I LOVE the idea of using the built in KVM to split the monitor and feed the bottom part with a clean video output in Resolve 🤯

    Great video! What colour profile would you recommend for the LG that has the best colour accuracy for editing?

    can we do triple monitors instead of dual screen!!! reason asking bc I'm in need of three monitors because I use three cameras for work. When I'm editing, I prefer to have three monitors to display each camera's footage separately. This makes it much easier for me to review and select clips during timeline editing. Do you have any alternative suggestions?

    hey brother could you explain the cable set up to get your dual up in pbp with your mac? i’m using an anker 575 docking station and can’t figure it out

    • @Thaddeuspryor

      I personally noticed that with any dock I used......I wasn't able to use dual HDMI cables......I'm using a Dell Display port to USB c and the HDMI to HDMI (Once that came with the monitor) . The monitor or the DOC is picky about cables. Not sure exactly why I was able to simply use 2 hdmi to usc b c........ I had a OWC dock but now I have a iVANKY quad docking station. I have never found and discussion of this until i just found your comment lol. I was about to call LG but as a M1 mac user I think the tricky part is in how the Apple Silica chip/chips work. The iVANKY is a Apple Silica centric docking station and comes with a propriety cable as it has dual chips......On the technical side all of these Macs seem to work different magic when it comes to video so you have to read into the chip limitations etc. Which Mac?

    Were you able to run both monitors in their native resolution using the same GPU? I think this combo is at the upper limit of what the max resolution of a GPU is.

      Yes absolutely fine. Wonderful Resolution on both monitors connected to my Laptop.

    • @samaraiza

      The scaling wouldn’t be native for macs and the gpu would be continuously processing to render the view, which would comprise performance for editing videos and other creative tasks. He’d have to get the 32” 6k for a Mac to get near the proper 220ppi, or retina quality. Throwing the dual up in the mix might be more forgiving then. I see a lot of RUclipsrs with 34” ultra wide monitors bragging about their setup not realizing that they’re compromising their performance. There’s a reason Apple’s display is 27” at 5k and their 32” at 6k, they achieve near 220ppi. Fonts won’t be sharp with this setup.

      on the Dual Up monitor, I have two separate Inputs. One via USBC and one HDMI that come from the HUB that connects to my computer.

      have you tried calibrating your screen with an X-Rite probe?

  • @jarkolicious

    I have owned the Dell UP3221Q for quite some time, and I find the USB-C connection periodically failing for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It does not appear to be the MBP, as I have the same problem with multiple machines. Instead of USB-C I opted to connect it via HDMI, which is a shame because it loses the value the single USB-C cable offers.
    Out of curiosity, have you run into this issue at all?
    I just ordered the LG DualUp to use with the Dell, and am considering swapping out the Dell with an Apple Studio Display instead. While that drops the size from 32" to 27", I feel like the color accuracy and Apple-to-Apple connection will decrease the potential for those USB-C issues I mentioned.

    • @Whiteinrevery
      @Whiteinrevery  Год назад

      Thanks for these questions. With the Dell, I ended up going with the Display Port connection and haven't had any issues. I didn't use the USB-C route because the monitor doesn't allow enough power to my macbook pro to power it as I have the M1 Max laptop that requires 145W. If it could fully power my laptop, I would have gone that route.
      For the apple studio display, I imagine the color is pretty accurate but not much different than the Dell. I would always recommend calibrating your monitor no matter how color accurate the manufacturer says it is. Also, going from 27in to 32in was actually a big deal and I don't think I could ever go back to 27in now. haha. It's so immersive for my desk size and eye distance from the screens.

    I have an lg ultrawide, and I hate it’s single button menu interface. Just switching inputs or powering down is a pia. It’s a lot of extra “presses” just to do a single task. I even wonder how long the button will last because of all the use it sees. It looks like your monitor has the same interface. 😒

    • @Whiteinrevery
      @Whiteinrevery  2 года назад

      never thought about the button going bad. Both monitors have a single button to access everything. What type of button would you prefer? multiple push buttons instead of 1 universal button? For powering down, I just have Auto Power on so I never have to worry about that. Only time Im using the button is for calibration, changing inputs, or adjusting color spaces.

    • @riotrob
      @riotrob 2 года назад

      @@Whiteinrevery At a minimum; a button for input and a button for power. The existing joystick/button is so mushy that I select "input" when trying to select "power". (and vice versa). Sometimes, it can be 4 or 5 presses just to turn the power off.

      @@laurentiudll Hi! During set-up, I learned that my MacBook Pro only accepts one monitor so I opted for a single horizontal monitor instead of the dualup. When I upgrade my computer set-up, I'll take a look at the dualup again.

    • @Whiteinrevery
      @Whiteinrevery  2 года назад +1

      that Pro Display XDR looks like a beast! My only reasoning for the Dell over that one would be because the apple monitor relies on computer calibration instead of external calibration like the one built into the dell monitor. Have been having too many issues with the M1 computers trying to get apple's screens calibrated properly.
