One could argue that Gothel, while not a twist villain to the audience, serves as one in-universe. Rapunzel doesn’t realize how horrible her mother truly is, at first, because she’s been raised by her all her life. Plus, Gothel is able to conceal her moments of weakness as moments of tough love. It’s Rapunzel who has to discover the true evil of her mother.
I think it's also worth noting that, originally, she didn't even want to kidnap Rapunzel. She was just contend to take a lock of her hair. Only after she realized that she couldn't detach the hair from Rapunzel without it losing it's power did she turn to kidnapping.
She's already horrible in the movie but the tv show somehow made her movie version look tame as she abandoned her own daughter for her selfish need to stay young.
when you realize her daughter is kinda like Ocean Master as the way i see Tangled is kinda like Aquaman
Wait a goddamn sec, she's STILL ALIVE?
@@jamiegioca9448 she was in the backstory of her daughter and abandoned her.
Yes but if she didn't gone to kidnap Rapunzel she would torn to dust and left Cassandra alone and traumatized
Look as we learn gothel lived for centuries using the magic flower without it she will crumble to dust as we see in the movie post ending
In my opinion, Gothel felt like a combination of both Frollo and the Evil Queen from Snow White.
Frollo, because both kept their respective adopted children in captivity for so long, well into adulthood and brainwashed them into ridiculous beliefs.
And the Evil Queen because both are vain and envious of other people's beauty and/or success so both resort to using magic or dirty tricks to get their way.
When she reached out for Gothel as she was falling out the window...pretty sad.
The effects of Long-term abuse
I like that you pointed out that Mother Gothel had some positive qualities, as I've had that opinion for years now, but was never able to pin down where that came from. Now I know.
She was like Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. He showed to be a shallow jerk from the start but not truly as evil. As the show went on, we saw how messed up he really was.
Mother gothel is kind of like Frollo
@@jalenikezeue4114 Frollo was messed up mentally and, like so many bigots (trained by society), he actually he thought he was doing the world a *favor* hating gypsies. How is Gothel like him.
Man, you know you have something amazing going when your entire comments section is nothing but pleas for specific videos. Keep it up, you're gonna be big.
Gothel is a detestable villain, who had her defeat coming for a long time.
This analysis is long overdue.
Suggestion: You could make Anton Chigurh, he's considered as the most accurate cinematographic representation of a psychopath
I want to see Prince Hans from Frozen.
As evil as she is, Mother Gothel wasn’t wrong about one thing, “The world is Dark, Selfish, and Cruel. If it finds a slightest ray of sunshine, it destroys it.” But I say that she’s one of the prime examples of how cruel the world can be. She wanted to Stay physically young and refused to except the fate that she’s gonna grow old and die eventually, she was consumed by greed and lust over her beauty instead of Rapunzel’s and others well being. If there’s one thing that Mother Gothel taught us is that no matter what we do, where gonna die eventually so we have to live life to the fullest and not let anyone or anything take that away from us, cause people in this word can be selfish, cruel and greedy all because they hate they life and is envious of the stuff that we have and they don’t.
Coud You Do The Beast From Over The Garden Wall? He's Like One Of My All Time Favorite Villains .
It don't think the flower could be practically shared by a community. There's only one little flower.
Next time could you do Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender and both Darth Vader and Palpatine from Star Wars?
I didn't know that Gothel's voice was Doc Ock's Wife
Can do Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog, King Candy/Turbo from Wreck-It Ralph, Robert Callaghan/Yokai from Big Hero 6, Dawn Bellwether from Zootopia, and Te Ka from Moana.
Can you do Drago Bludvist from how you train your dragon??
Yeah that's great and can you also do The Green Death and Grimmel the Grisly from the 1st and 3rd films.
I think she's one of Disney's last great villains.
Mayor Bellwether from Zootopia?

What would she have done once Rapunzel died though?
