Great advice to go to Settings to personalize how ChatGTP responds to my prompts by adding information about me and asking for follow up questions as a default for clarity.
I am an octogenarian and I am in the process of trying to write my memoir. To be honest with you I have been fumbling around with ChatGPT for a couple of years now. Do you have any suggestions on how to better utilize this program to help me improve my writing? How much text should I give it so that it is more specific and constructive in its responses? How do I ask it to fill in the blanks of memories that are not precise anymore because I don’t remember them exactly the way they happened. Cheers, sincerely, Ray Nichol.
Hey Ray, I’d probably use a persona of an autobiography editor and then get it to ask you a series of questions on chapters and key memories for each. Explain that you can’t remember everything and have it probe you for more info. For the writing I’d split things up into bite size chunks no more than 500-1k words then use the canvas expand function. I’ll record a video on how to write a book and look at other tools before the holidays. AY

I’ve noticed that the crux of the problem that limits my success depends heavily on the specificity of the prompts I offer to ChatGPT. That’s my constraining bottleneck.
