I love the way you balance the sound of your bass playing and the music. Some people blend the Bass way to loud or the music they are doing. You nailed the perfect balance at least to my ears.
So so good. I've watched this video countless times. Such a great playthrough of this song and love the NG2. I had an NG3 but just couldn't connect with it comfortably. That scale on the NG series is just a little too long for me. The tone on the other hand is still one of my favorites.
I have the same bass - NG2 5 in yellow :) It's worth stepping up to the B7K - you have more control over that nasty 2khz and general guts of the bass tone. Your timing is excellent.
great cover and amazing tone. what is your opinion on the zoom B3? i have it too but am thinking to get rid of it because most pedals on it arent that great. How do you use it?
joost boereboom Hey man. I found that the GK head and the 4x12 BM cabinet work great with my pedals and setup. I tend to send a very bright sterile signal to the B3 and try to tame it with the head and cabinet. Other than that, I use the dbx compressor and an EQ. Hope this helps. :)
Yeah oké so you mainly use it as a sort of preamp. I use the sansamp driver emu for a bit of dirt but am gonna see is those emulators can help me get a better tone.
+joost boereboom I found the Sansamp on the Zoom B3 to be way too harsh. On the other, I don't like the original either haha. I had the Darkglass B3K in front of the Zoom and I was very satisfied.
Alecu yeah the sansamp is not really a subtle tone change. i would really like the darkglass b3k but the pricetag.... haha. do you happen to have any recomendations for drive like preamp pedals?
joost boereboom The ODB-3 or any other drive pedals should work as well, but I highly recommend the Darkglass though, even with that pricetag. I bought mine new and do not regret it one bit.
As a bassist, honestly, i prefer listening to your cover instead of the original studio version. Is that also you favourite sound in your own works or you just tried (succesfully btw) to recreate the original?
+Vinicius Vidal Thanks, man. No, I don't have any tabs. I suggest learning the song by ear, it's pretty simple. You can even take my cover as a reference. I play in Drop A. :)
I use the passive option with the series pickup mode on the NG-2. On the B3K I use close to max Drive, a bit over Half blend, and Boost Attack / Raw Grunt switches. I only used the Zoom B3 as a noise gate and audio interface. :)
Hey man, great job here.. Not that im any expert but doesn't the bass rhythm follow the kick drum on the first 8 bars of the chorus? .. Sorry to be picky, just wondering, anybody?
Thanks, man. No, it doesn't follow the kick drum on the chorus, its just straight notes. I asked someone who had the Producer Pack of P3 to send me the isolated bass on Catch Fire and I think I played it exactly like Nolly did on the album. :)
Wow, thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, after listening for the double picking I think youre right ... plus your Producer Pack kinda seals it!! Lol. Cheers.
A bass player who can mix a decent bass, I thank you
Never heard this song before. It definitely has a FNM vibe. Nice job brother.
Fenris Hexenhammer faith no more? I don't hear it
+Jordan Wayward the tone is similar to whats on Angledust

Love your playing. And these dingwall bases are just gorgeous. I'm no bass player but man, i want to get one, and i probably will in the future.
Dude great cover of my favorite (vocal) song! love the abandoned building look
Killer bass=killer bass line🙏🏿🤘🏿💚periphery🤘🏿🙏🏿
Earned yourself a sub on this one, my man. You KILLED it!
+TheMD93 Thanks, man. :)
What a great performance and your Ferrari yellow Dingwall is gorgeous!
So this is what time masters do in their free time. Nice cover Cap'n Rip Hunter!
Dude, sick cover. Sound is great, please keep the ng-2 videos coming. Im truly considering a 4 string NG-2 and leaving off the G string.
Thanks, man. There are more videos on their way, for sure. :)
Nice.
I love that Bass too.
Wow this cover and bass tone perfect!
I really enjoyed the video a lot, nice tone and awesome cover dude!

Do give the Droc a try - I sold the NG in this video to a good friend and tbh the Droc is more comfortable :)
Great playing man.
Maannn, that's just sooo nice!!

Looks like you figured out the song by ear in standard tuning, nice work.

I'm actually thinking of upgrading to either the B7K or the B7K Ultra. I'm sure they are both worth it.
Cheers. :D

perfect and accurate playing congrats ! what kind of picks you use?
Fantastic job dude! What kind of pick are you using?
Great sound and cover, What tuning is this song in? :)
I play it în Drop A but I'm sure it can be played in Drop C or something.
Thanks a lot for the reply! Gonna tune the bass right away ;)
@@MarvBobby the song is on a 4 string tuned CGCF
Man, any pro tip on dialing such beefy and juicy tone? Especially the EQ settings.

Nice tone bro! How can you make this bass tone in Zoom b3??
Its all dingwall to me, plug a dingwall to whatever overdrive pedal you have = instant nolly tone.
Dude, did you use the Helix lt for this cover?
As a bassist, honestly, i prefer listening to your cover instead of the original studio version.

Yes, i will do this. Thanks man!!
What settings have you got on your bass and B3k? And are you then just going straight into an interface?
I use the passive option with the series pickup mode on the NG-2. On the B3K I use close to max Drive, a bit over Half blend, and Boost Attack / Raw Grunt switches. I only used the Zoom B3 as a noise gate and audio interface.

what string gauge are you using?
wat effects are you using from zoom b3?
tapan patel only used it as an interface for this one. :)
Alecu is it possible for you mail me your settings of your dark glass and zoom b3 ? btw I use Warwick vampyre zoomb1xon and b7k

No effects on the Zoom B3. On the Darkglass I use a lot of drive(almost full), mid blend, boost attack and raw grunt. :)
Excellently done but the camera angle changes are annoying! Thanks for the vid still 👍
What's the tuning on the Five B E A D G or E A D G C
mark hawksford I'm playing in Drop A for this one: AEADG. :)
Ahh right. Nice one mate.
+mark hawksford Thanks, man. :)
Fuck. That tone...Geez..
Not too fond of the lyrics, but this is some awesome sounding metal.

hey this video was removed.
Played some wrong notes, but nice tone!
Verses are rushed, but the overall tone and performance are good
That doesn’t look comfortable
