in thespace of the first 10 minutes of this video you've got me looking at the Roy Wood upgrade parts to refurbish my own loco, great fun this side of the hobby!
A very inspiring video, I have toyed with the idea of a live stream loco for sometime, l have a Mamod traction engine , lorry and car so maybe I shall have to have ago.
Great video with great information and ideas for beginners on smaller budgets for getting into live steam. We all come in at a different levels. You don't have to spend a fortune on a steam locomotive to get started
i started with an MSS loco for my garden railway. My one was just awful for me honestly. It never worked properly, its speed setting were either completely off or full speed. A lot of times it couldnt even pull its own weight and even after spending literally more than the engine cost originally trying to fix it it was still useless. I was lucky enough to get a roundhouse jennie and it was like a breath of fresh air. Never had any trouble with it what so ever. N E V E R buy these trains. save for a roundhouse bertie. Double the price but quadruple the quality.
