    Thank you so much for all of your videos! Moving from WA to TN/KY to TX makes gardening hard and I've learned so much and been more successful because of your videos 🥰 My lisianthus have 3 sets of leaves with the next set just peeking out and after 3 months of caring for them, your video has given me confidence to go ahead and put them outside. THANK YOU for helping us all grow! 💗

    To me it’s no surprise lisianthus started doing great in the heat, after all, they are native to Texas and grow wild in the fields we call these “Texas bluebells” or “prairie gentian”

    I’m growing them for the first time this year. I’m in zone 10a and they are perennial here! They are beautiful! I’m starting them from seed and they haven’t sprouted yet. I’m hopeful they grow!

    I've never seen or heard of this flower before stumbling onto you, which makes me SSSSSSo glad you showed up in my feed. Glad you shared your experience with them, I'm going to try my green thumb at growing them from seed, starting with my little greenhouse an see how that goes. Thanks again, for sharing an the heads up.

    This is my first year growing, or trying, lisianthus. I soaked the seeds in 1 tsp Hydrogen peroxide to 1 C water for an hour first, used a heat mat at 70* and grow light for 24hrs a day and the seeds came up in a week! Once I saw some green I put the light on a timer, took off the plastic greenhouse bag and removed the heat mat. We shall see how, or if they continue to develop. Fingers crossed. If not I'm going to start ordering plugs too!

    I love your videos, very inspirational! I am a small produce and flower grower and my season is so short I was wondering who supplies Lisianthus and other seedlings? That would save me so much time.

    Helpful video, thank you. I'm considering growing lisianthus from seed, but sounds pretty challenging. I'm going to give it a try and see how I do this first time around. Hopefully I'll see some pretty blooms next spring/summer. I'll look for more of videos in your library on this topic too. Thank you!

    What is your zone may I know? Also could you please let me know when you put the plugs in the ground? Are they perineal or annul? I have some lisianthus, I got them from a local nursery. I am zone 9. They are doing well, but they do not like to be around weeds. Their vase life is amazingly long, even the buds will bloom in the vase

    just got to know the flower name though I have seen it times ago. When you go to buy the seed, do you know which color of lisianthus will be? And which kind of fertile material is needed for this flower or just some normal one? I know nothing about gardening but I am planning to plant some flowers next year. Thanks so much.

    Is lisianthus a candidate for late winter sowing since most of the seeds come pelleted? They seem so fussy but they’re beautiful.

    • @TONYAwiththeflowers
      @TONYAwiththeflowers  3 года назад

      Lisianthus is one of the few seeds that I haven't been able to winter sow. The seedlings grow very, very slowly.

      Johnny's seeds and swallowtail gardens seeds both sell lisianthus seeds. They take a very long time to grow from seed, but are worth the effort. Good luck!
