The first story, honestly, hear me out. His niece ruined his life. I understand needing to know, but he had a new family, an amazing job and was probably taking chemo for his eye. Then the niece had to bring everyone’s attention to him. He lost his family, he lost his job, and he definitely was beyond poor after the insurance company went after him so he wouldn’t be able to afford chemo. And he had amnesia the whole time. It would be different if he was an ass trying to get out of the first family. It’s sad. Truly

Always a good idea to send a guy of whom you’re convinced has 3 evil demons lurking around inside home to hang with the fam for the night. Even if you didn’t think he was actually possessed, his violent attempts should have caused someone to notify police and at least separate him from the family until he was apparently safe.

@@ItsNeverAManequin The more I think about it, the more your comment makes sense. He probably got caught and you know what it’s like when a man gets caught, they get angry. And so he just decided to act like he was possessed trying to make it seem as though it wasn’t him that was doing it but the demons inside of him making him do it. Idc how he acted, he wouldn’t have been coming home to me especially after claiming he was filled with demons. Nope, you and that teacher who was also acting as if she was possessed, y’all go on back to her place and figure it out.

As someone who suffered from depression, i can say the mind does things to cope with trauma. In short, since his life was so bad, his mind had created a "safe place" where everything did go right. Every situation is different, but perhaps his safe place had a different name and lifestyle. These thoughts dont just occure, they can span from childhood to present day. Which would explain why he remembered childhood memories. He probably did hit his head during the accident, and when he woke up his "safe place" memories went from coping thoughts to being real to him. I suffered from this coping method, only i never took those thoughts real.

#2 is why there should ALWAYS be a call and response procedure to verify safety. Especially when you're dealing with people that may not have done anything like that before. I know it can be confusing to how Fritz got documentation to start a new life but this took place in the late '60s so a lot of that kind of stuff was a lot easier to get. There was no Home or business computers, time when a lot of stuff was done on paper a phone call or fax or something so it was easy to start a new life in a sense. 💯 Soooo true! Usually your gut feeling is almost always right. I was always taught to listen to that & I've told my kids the same. That bungee jumping story is so sad & super scary.
When I was young my oldest cousin (19 at the time) went to Canada for a fun night with friends. (Living in Michigan, only like 20-25 mins away-- it's almost a right of passage to go drinking in Canada since the legal drinking age is 19.) Sadly, her friend that drove had no business driving. My cousin, seated behind the driver, passed away on impact from getting crushed between seats. Even though it's been many years I can still remember what one of her best friends said at the funeral. I guess my cousin had begged her to come out with them that night. She was in college & busy studying, so she declined. I guess being persistent my cousin & friends stopped at her house on the way for one last begging attempt. She didn't end up going & she said it wasn't so much the studying keeping her home, but a terrible gut feeling. She was beside herself at the funeral & kept repeating how she KNEW something bad was gonna happen.😢 So, to make a long story even longer, lol, ALWAYS listen to your gut people!!!!

Actually, in the Story of Larry Bater, there is this effect called a, "Confabulation". A confabulation, basically, happens, when your brain tries to recall something, like a memory, draws a blank and then just decides to produce something that fits the bill. Happens a lot in dementia cases, especially early ones, but also to people with ADHD. Our brain is quite apt in doing so and, for some, this ability is the core reason we can be creative.

And people shouldn't be able to jump without a staff member clearing them. And they shouldn't have two people up there at the same time if they aren't ready at the same time and the verbal communication isn't totally clear with two-way understanding confirmed. ANYONE could misunderstand when a staffer says "ok jump!" to someone else, that is WAY too broad to say at a BUNGEE JUMPING business

My family in Brazil are Catholic and my aunts new boyfriend had told her to go to a church with him to talk to her deceased dad (my grandpa) for closure. He molested all his daughters and was very violent when alive. Anyway, apparently it “went wrong” & a demon “possessed” someone there. Was creepy cause I wouldn’t have found out bout it had I not had a nightmare that night, whilst it was happening, bout my grandpa bein a demon comin after me. I never dream of him, I hardly remember what he looks like cause he did when I was young. My mom was weirded out when I told her bout it the next morning, but a lot of my family members think I have a ‘gift’ cause I’ve had a couple of dreams that would then happen irl 🤷🏻‍♀️ even if it’s weeks or months later.

Based on the fact that he had the "paperwork" saying he was, in fact, John Johnson as soon as he got to Oklahoma makes me think his entire story is bogus and he knew exactly what he was doing the whole time. I'm not too sure I'm buying the "amnesia theory." When someone gets into an accident and loses their memory to amnesia, they aren't going to have another identity ready to go within a couple of days and/or weeks. Sounds to me like he was just embarrassed to admit that he walked out on his former life by faking his own death.

However there is something to conquering a fear that can remove associated blocks, but I'm sure as any professional therapist would advise though *never when it's an acute phobia so powerful it can induce a myocardial infarction.* She was a story in knowing and accepting ones limits.

And accepting one’s limitations would also have been her listening to her instincts (fear) that told her not to go. But yes, too much of anything is bad. I wouldn’t let my fear of heights stop me from getting on a plane to travel because that’d be allowing my fear to control me IMO but thrill seeking - Never. And what comes to mind from MrBallen is all those scuba diving stories where people pass numerous warning to turn around if they’re not a professional, noting others have died and stating that the trip isn’t worth death, but they push on and perish tragically. And I can’t help but think if they listened to that fear response when reading those signs that most of them would have turned around and saved their own lives.

Completely preventable too. What kind of bungee jumping place has people jumping without making sure the jump area is clear? It shouldn't have been possible for someone to make that mistake

I hear that hospitals always appoint an arrival-by-ambulance a "DOA" (dead on arrival) to avoid lawsuits. Maybe this is one of those cases. Instead of her dying from the fall, she "died before impact" which probably released the bungi jumping company from any liability.

Hate to say it but that’s a Darwin right there… I’ve been scared and nervous af when bungee jumping but heck, I still paid attention and made sure that the bungee jumping staff securely tethered me to ropes and the crane from where I was jumping off of. I’d like to think that when you’re that scared, your instincts make you more hyper aware and vigilant of your own safety.

@@echo.charlie looking at it this way, I feel better about my “freeze” response to heights. I once wanted to make myself jump off a rock into a river (like many others had safely done in front of me), and yet was totally frozen. I simply could not make myself do it. I guess that’s a good survival trait, in some instances.

The bungee jump story was so damn sad. The part that got me was when MrBallen showed the image of her just as she lept from the bridge. Knowing that was her last few seconds before she died gave me a feeling of immense sadness and a strange other feeling that I cant quite describe

@@onb6098 Well it is possible for something like that to happen and she could have died from a heart attack on her way down. However my theory is that she was having the heart attack and was still alive when she hit the ground below. Its terrible to think about it. Either way, that's just a f**ked up way to go
