I listen to so much house music, I love it so much but I often find I require other stimulation, I read and watch stuff with the music playing. With Larry Heard's stuff its just not necessary. I can let my mind drift and wander. It's stunning, letting my mind roam free, contemplating life and its many twists and turns. I find its almost like a form of meditation.
I'm only getting seriously closer with someone if they'll listen to the same music which I do. Or appreciate it. Be this in friendships as well as in relationships. Peace❤
Larry Heard aka Mr Fingers has been at it almost 30 years and no one comes close to extracting so much soul from so little!! From the moment I heard Mystery of Love in 1986 I became a huge admirer of the man. Scotty Deep.
this is what you get when you put full passion into your music and produce it with your heart. beautiful work Larry heard 1 of the best deep house records of all time for me personally ❤️
Larry Heard definitely shared his magic here. From the beginning of the track with its beautiful rhythm and dreamy synths to the introduction of the bass at 2:08, takes one into a lucid state of seeing the beauty of our world. Thanks for sharing your insight, Mr. Heard. I'll never forget the day I stumbled across this 12" EP.
have loved him since 1990..... this is featured on an AfterDark chill music CD [AfterDark Madrid, NY, London, Paris, Chicago, etc] .... I have 5 of them. had some of his original early 90s stuff and fell in love w/ his 'house' sound/style/groove ..... great dance music
S1nT3t1k No, the only true deep house music master ever is Charles Webster, his music its so holistic, polivalent and deep. Glenn and Larry are so talented but their talent is wasted in the end.
Charles Webster has been in the game a long time, (he was Juan Atkins engineer at one point), and on the same label as Glenn (Peacefrog), so he is no newcomer to the scene, but saying Glenn and Larry wasted their talent is ridiculous. What is wasted in making music that you love, and being able to express themselves so freely, not too mention they both have been great ambassadors for house music, showing themselves to be humble, and something other aspiring musicians wish to emulate? I'd hardly call that wasted.
S1nT3t1k Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but you can't deny the fact that GU and Larry Heard are in a special class of house producers. Along with Ron Trent, Chez Damier, Kerri Chandler, Mateo & Matos, Matthew Herbert, etc. They each have their own special mark on the history of house music, and are still highly respected today.
S1nT3t1k They may be of the best producers out there (and great ambassadors like you say and therefore humble which is to respect), but Charles is a level above. His music is carefully crafted and can get quite clever (its not just something cool), while constrained by what is demanded. And you said it hes an engineer. Not to mention that Larry today is nowhere near the quality he was before, and Glenn is showing off too much, which can be good or not so. Its odd how Boo Williams, who said he its not as good as his teacher Glenn, seems to actually surpass him.
Listening to this in the middle of nowhere in northern Texas. God this is good.

Yes it’s beautiful he’s a quite brilliant creator. Hard to pidgin hole him…… it’s very good 🏴🇯🇲🌳🌳
This and 'Black Oceans" have to be his best work. One of the best house labels from the 90's too.
