    Thank you. You gave me enough information to suspect I wouldn't like the game even though you all did, which makes it a perfect review.

    The story telling is very funny and it is quite easy to get it to the table. There’s a bit more RPG elements in this one and less board game elements compared to Forgotten Waters. This game is shorter than Forgotten Waters and it feels more cooperative too than Forgotten Waters. Both are ultimately excellent, and my game group is split which they enjoy more.

      They both feel very different to me. LoG was my game of the year in 2022. So far I’ve enjoyed my time with Freelancers. I think LoG works better as a solo game, while this works better with other people.

      @@nomascontrolIt's a game. That was just my shorthand way of saying that there didn't seem to be many gameplay mechanisms that the players interact with in order to exercise agency and determine the outcome. For me, that tilts it more toward the experiential end of the spectrum than the gameplay end of the spectrum.

    I saw someone say this was fine with kids, then saw elsewhere and in this review that it's not kid friendly. Can you please clarify what isn't kid friendly about it? Is it language? And if so, could I avoid that by reading & altering the dialog a bit myself instead of using the voice actor?

    The whole time I was watching this, I kept wondering, "Why is there even a board game part of this??" It's an app with some physical components; why didn't they just make the whole thing an app? Does it really add much to the game to pull tokens from a physical bag instead of doing it through the app?

    This is great but also so frustrating because it is so niche... To get a large group 4+ to commit to long and constant sessions is something only a small part of gamers can do. Unfortunately it is not me.

    • @thedicetower

      Well, it only takes 3, and it's not a campaign, so you are only finding a small group to play something once, if you so desire.

    Do you guys ever not like a game? Why is every game you review get high reviews?

    • @TheDungeonDive
      @TheDungeonDive Год назад +3

      Because spending time on something just to be negative about it is not fun, and it often causes fans of the thing to be super mean and, in my experience, issue death threats on line. It’s way more fun to spread the word of things you love, especially when that takes time. Being negative about something doesn’t mean it’s more valuable. They offered up some criticism of this game in their positive review.

    • @Zilbernet
      @Zilbernet Год назад +1

      They post negative reviews all the time, but they when they find a game they really like, they highlight it.

    • @ChrisHathaway

      Check out the round up reviews, with like 7 games in one video. Usually there are plenty of negative ones in there. Also, I bet if Tom plays a game and doesn't like it, he's not going to have others play it enough to review it just so they can have a longer dedicated group video. Too many games, too little time.
