    Yes this is a 5 year old vid but i am dead keen to get into this. As a fan of bolt action.
    I really must say tho the WG price increase and changes really hurt some of us who live in countries with not so great currency.
    Super pricy now 😰

    Oh yes, I am all in on this. I love the Bolt Action compatability that allows you to revert back to either, and the swapping turrete, fantastic

    The absolute win from Warlord on these starter sets is that they come with both turrets for the tanks so you're not boxed into making one take or the other. I can't wait to get to work on my set from GenCon.

    This Tabletop RPG is just made for Dieselpunk fans or those who like video games like the Fallout series. I certainly loving it. I'm not as interested in playing the game, however, I am certainly going to collect the miniature models.

    I like the Sherman upgrade and the light walker. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't at the very least provide provide some WWWII weapons upgrades to the generic WWII infantry.

    • @brunneng38
      @brunneng38 8 лет назад

      Me too. There's talk of some kind of upgrade sprue at some point. What we're looking at here is a box set of Clockwork Goblin minis thrown together with basic warlord infantry sprues.

    • @JTMC93
      @JTMC93 7 лет назад +1

      There was talk that if it sold well that Warlord would try and develop Plastic upgrade kits for infantry and some plastic kits to replace the Clockwork Goblin models.

    The BAR is "Badly Designed" ?
    Is that what you said at 06:22 ?
    You don't know what the hell you're talking about !!!!

    • @asteroidrules
      @asteroidrules 8 лет назад +2

      The problem is "the time" was 1918. By the time World War 2 had rolled around not only was the BAR approaching obsolescence but in the interwar period the US Army actually made several modifications to the design that made the World-War-2-era A2 model substantially worse than the original 1918 model. Although numerous commercial and foreign produced variants greatly improved on the design (most notably the Polish Wz.28, a favorite among partisan fighters), the BAR as it was issued to American forces left quite a lot to be desired.

    • @lisabenjamin4068
      @lisabenjamin4068 7 лет назад +1

      Really it's just the weight. Nothing really much you'll find against it, which claims are pretty hog wash. The overall rifle served for near 50 years.

    • @WarThunder-zt4xw
      @WarThunder-zt4xw 5 лет назад +1

      Badly designed? Then what influenced the HCAR some 100 years since the creation of the BAR?!

  • @granapriego

    Do not see the point of a mmg and a hmg and only use 1 no point to it. Would of made more sense to have dual mounted mmg,s or hmg.

    • @tomdesjardins6778
      @tomdesjardins6778 8 лет назад +2

      i think it to place PIN marker on units before you assault it. the HMG is a heavy weapon and may PIN fully enclosed armoured vehicles, while MMG give you and extra dice against infantry or soft skin tatgets.

    • @SaturmornCarvilli
      @SaturmornCarvilli 8 лет назад +2

      I completely agree. It just doesn't make a lot of sense both as a design (walking mechs no withstanding) and game mechanically. The mech has to carry two types of ammo now on something I would imagine the Weird War engineers would want to keep weight/bulk down for better mobility. If not why not go full autocannon, or like you said, dual mmg/hmgs. Game mechanically there isn't a big enough difference, to me, to even bother. I could easily stick with either machine gun. I actually prefer the mmg since it is usually 10pts cheaper and kick out an extra die to hit.

    • @tomdesjardins6778
      @tomdesjardins6778 8 лет назад +2

      1 think the MMG is a secondary weapon to the power claws as it main weapon. think the HMG as more AA. that like most of the US stuff

    Hello all. I am new to this type of gaming. My question is this. Why plastic and metal parts? What kind if glue is used? Do I paint it with special paints? Help?

    • @OnTableTop
      @OnTableTop  5 лет назад +2

      We use superglue to attach the pieces together, have patience with it. Any miniature paints are fine after priming the miniature first. We have lots of painting guides on our website here: www.beastsofwar.com/painting/

    • @derwolf4611

      ***** Is that legit? I saw now all pics of the coming stuff and the Germans simply get tanks with spider legs. -.-

    • @JTMC93
      @JTMC93 7 лет назад

      Kinda makes sense from the stand point that America (and the soviets who reverse engineered it) had the first gyro-stabilization tech. Though it started fairly basic with just stabilizing the gun on tanks but they could apply that knowledge to basic walkers while the Germans are still developing it. We might see the Germans roll out some if Warlord does take over some of the designs.
      Biggest issue I see is that everyone assumes the game is a Warlord Brainchild when it really isn't they are just... A Publisher to the Developer.

    i love the new models, but i'll be glad when the game gets popular enough to have all plastic models...mixing plastics and metal is very hard to build up for novice hobbyists and people that aren't used to working with pewter.

    • @attentionspanlabs
      @attentionspanlabs 3 года назад +1

      Why do you say working with pewter is more difficult for novice hobbyists?

    • @sirrathersplendid4825
      @sirrathersplendid4825 2 года назад

      @@attentionspanlabs - Pewter is definitely harder to work with. Can be very tricky to cut, drill and file down.

    • @attentionspanlabs
      @attentionspanlabs 2 года назад +1

      @@sirrathersplendid4825 Granted, but are those the sorts of things novice hobbyists are doing?

    • @sirrathersplendid4825
      @sirrathersplendid4825 2 года назад

      @@attentionspanlabs - Even the simplest figures need some prep before painting, cleaning off flash for one, and maybe replacing a bent or broken flagpole with a brass wire one. I’d say the first is novice level, the second is not all that far from it.

    • @attentionspanlabs
      @attentionspanlabs 2 года назад +1

      @@sirrathersplendid4825 I don't think it's any harder to clean off flashing or mold lines from pewter than plastic. The same tools will accomplish it just as easily on either material.
      I started at a time when most minis were metal and it did not give me any feelings of despair or inadequacy, so when I hear that a novice is reluctant to touch a metal kit, I get suspicious. Now if you're talking about a very large all metal model like the old Thunderhawk or the Epic Titans, I can sympathize, but they are a far cry from the mix of metal and plastic in K47 kit. And truth be told I have had a harder time removing flashing and dewarping resin Forgeworld kits then almost any all-metal kit I've ever worked with.

    It would have been nice, if Warlord had used their opportunity to make a "Weired War" game, that used models, which dont fuck around with rudimantry physics. Also the way the design for armor goes...no no... The Axis have spidertanks? Its 47 and the allies use shermans as weaponsplatform?
    Why didnt they use the tonns of weired real concepts the axis and allies had and put them a step further? No they had to totally brainfuck themselves and come up with such stupid stuff.

      Presbiter do you not know anything about the background of this game? It has to do with opening rifts caused by nukes in 1943 and so on.
