Oh, man ~ this is so special; especially to us old geezers who were there in 1970-72. Appears it inspired the team, too, as the B's went out & kicked some Montreal butt.😉 Thank you, dafoomie!
Bruins management could have done a better job of recognizing these amazing players. Player intro one by one with a little history of each. Maybe a speech by #4? If this was Montreal the ceremony would be at least 30 minutes long because the Habs are a class act.
Growing up just south of Boston, I was 7 years old when the B's won the cup in 1970. The Bruins were my first favorite team as a kid, followed by the Sox, Celtics and finally Patriots. Go Bruins.
Who were all those players in the highlights with dark hair and just hair in general? Just in awe watching these guys come out to raise the banners, I was just a 10 yr old kid when Orr scored that goal. To see many of them living long lives is incredible considering the hockey diet way back then was beer and cigarettes! lol
To whomever organized this,,was it that important to rush through the announcing of all of these names and not give some of these guys even a little background time on each one with some type of recognition? Like even 10 or 15 seconds apiece?? Could we at least been able to see each one of them individually so we could see who was who?? Many of these 70 year an older guys likely went through a lot to get here and were just rushed out there... Announcer clearly not a deep Bruins fan mispronouncing names and just pushing it through like he was late for something...Just like a cattle call rushing them all out there...I'd like to have heard about some of these guys...Johnny Bucyk can barely stand up now..Three minute ceremony and whisked off the ice...For shame...Great job Jacobs family.
It's just because the original jerseys back in the day didn't have names on the back of the jerseys. They didn't put the names on the back until the 77-78 season so i guess they are trying to keep the retro theme with the jerseys they gave them.
Because they weren't on their jerseys back in the day. Boston fans don't need no stinking names on jerseys. Besides, they announced them in order during intro.
There was resistance to it because the Bruin's ownership thought that fans wouldn't buy as many programs if the players were easy to identify. The first time that I saw names on jerseys was whenever the Bruins were on national TV, during the mid-70s (the last years of the Orr, Esposito era). Otherwise, the Bruins wore the jerseys with no names until eventually it was probably a league mandate that uniforms have names.
Young man, go straight to your room, and don't come out until you're ready to apologize! Seriously, this was a very special time for Boston sports, and for New England in general. Plus, they won't be with us much longer. Is it really too much for you to bear? If so, then find something else to do, because we worshiped the ice they skated upon.

Closing in on 60 years since his Boston debut, and Bobby is STILL the absolute darling of us Bs fans. And it will always be so.

Nice camera work guys>>>>>>
Some great Bruin clubs in that 70's era should of won a half dozen more that 71 series hurt big time

I always thought the Broons' B looked better without the serifs.
This was amazing.
Where’s the diversity?
Boston should bring back those great uniforms from the 70’s and make them the home and away jerseys. Get rid of all the crap they have now period.
The OG for Bruins highlights
And.......... Bobby Orr.
Who
Anyone know why the Bruins didn't put their names on the jerseys? A lot of us aren't old enough to remember or know who is who other than number 4.

Haha, you’re lucky you’re not a Habs fan. BTW, you should change yr name. Just make it BruinPower, or BostonPower.
