That's not exactly a fair comparison. RTX is specifically tailored towards dynamic lighting (constantly updating based on position of sun & other light sources) Which is extremely taxing on consoles, PC players however will not struggle with this as graphics cards labeled RTX will have compatibility with these types of dynamic lights, But consoles are made to be for casuals and children so opting for an rtx card in a console is a very very bad choice dev wise. It would raise the price of the 70$ graphics cards(they are actually less than that they are 25$ whole sale) that consoles use to a 250$ graphics card(90$ whole-sale). AKA your consoles are never ever going to have this feature ever PERIOD. It's just not worth raising the box price of a console for something that casuals will never think to experience. dev's have to: 1) make RTX compatibility right off the bat. AKA when starting development on a game or they typically will not care to do it later (this can be un-true, devs sometimes do it later to re-new interest in a game which happens to be the case specifically for Minecraft bedrock edition) 2) The console/PC must be RTX for it to even work, making it not ideal unless you are specifically looking to make a game like cyberpunk which would massively benefit from RTX lighting.(which isn't Ray traced on consoles anyway only PC's) [the lowest level graphics card you can ray trace on is a RTX 2060 which is discontinued] (they are worth 80$ -130$) (6/10/24) 3) Optimize shader compilation (loading new types of lighting in area constantly) 4) Another big reason why dev's tend to avoid RTX is because it's extremely resource intense. I currently run a RTX 4060 TI (TI just means its titanium which helps sustain core power- aka more power) This is the newest, well fairly newest graphics card which costed me around a thousand dollars, With saying that my PC can run every single game on ultra with ray tracing AKA max graphics with insane RTX shaders. 5) Making a game RTX typically doesn't net any positives for the developer besides the fact that people like to have realism in a game, but for the case of minecraft it's kind of counter intuitive, but that really depends on who you ask. TLDR save up 300$ and you can buy a ray tracing computer. Stop buying consoles. Also game size has nothing at all to do with game performance whatsoever in any way. The only thing a game size will do it make loading times longer, nothing else. (which isn't true if you used solid state drives AKA SSD's fun-fact, consoles have SSD's but they are NOT optimized aka they do-not function as intended. This is because you're not supposed to store a-lot on the SSD, just a few games to run, not every damn thing on the console including the operating system.. lol extremely dumb flaw, they knew they would draw people in by saying they have SSD's but in reality they don't even function as an SSD... It's legit just a regular hard-drive at that point hahaha) My advice is: If you really want to play video games and are interested in doing it potentially for a long time or even indefinitely get a PC, owning a console is sort of like a gate-way drug to gamers and if they enjoy gaming they upgrade to a PC. And the longer you wait to do this, the worse it gets for you as you end up buying games which is marked up beyond what their actual value is. For example a game on steam is likely to be 60-80% cheaper than ANY console game market equivalent . Also stay away from things like game-pass as it's predatory and will end up vacuuming your funds that could be allocated to a PC.
