The second option would be a "no time limit" frontlines mode for people who want a true battlefield 1 experience. I think this would fix this problem.

Fun fact: if you look at the huge area with flames (outside of the accessible area of the map), a bit left of it, and use your sniper scope, you will see waves of soldiers running, dying, running, dying... Probably has to do with the ciuntless efforts from the french!
There should be a way to know if you are spotted. I could be sneaking up behind enemies thinking I'm undetected but actually I've been spotted by someone 200m away. Maybe a red outline on your minimal icon or something like that. I've put this on levelcap's channel and I thought I might aswell on this one.
+diggler46 Bad Company 2 had an audible 'ping' noise to tell you if you were spotted. It got removed to heighten the skill ceiling, same way as passive spotting on the mini-map got removed if you fired your gun 😀
no there shouldn't.... you think if a sniper spots you in real life someone randomly comes out of the blue and taps you on the shoulder and says "Hey! you've been spotted..." the best things about bf1 are spotting the enemy and being able to fire your weapon loud without showing up on the mini map

diggler46 if you have a relative good headset you can hear/think of you are beeing spotted (but not at long range) f ex when you are the only medic there and play on the Germans side and somebody shouts enemy medic spotted (f ex us soldier)then you know you are spotted by the enemy.
Okay so the artillery strike- on frontlines, when you are close to the enemys base, there will be a small stand. it is on either the French of the german side of the map. you click e and call in an artillery strike. I used it on frontlines and that's all I know so far.
What's a stand exactly? Do you know how to trigger it on CQ? Are there any other requirements before triggering it on Frontlines (pre-round/round, flag captured on all teams, ticket difference/level, ...) Do you have the footage of the artillery strike or how to trigger it?
The biggest thing I've noticed so far (on PS4) is that NO ONE stays to defend the objective. This map is so spread out and for that reason, when you move to the next objective you see the one you just took control of going back to the enemy. DEFEND people DEFEND!
I know this is a late comment but if you use a periscope you can see people moving in the distance. Towards the fire side of the map. Idk if anyone has noticed that.

It hit the ground in front of us, then hit two more times , each time moving forward 20 or so metres. This is awesome to see DICE using real-life trench warfare tactics in their maps!
The squad support landship works very well on this map. The main gun is one of those giant machine guns that are in the undercarriages of the airship and it works well for clearing trenches
Also you can rack up points by dropping health and ammo from the tank. It gets you the most points when you drop them after ypur team takes and objective.
just did a round of rush on this. OMG it's so good. you can pull of HUGE flanks lead a squad and pretty much carried as attackers :) very awesome. like the map alot
Someone did suggest this on Reddit: "maybe have random artillery strikes in no man's land that kill players and damage or destroy vehicles" - so maybe DICE implemented that idea?
This is a great map. I love it very very much, and I'm excited for prise de tahure too. Russian dlc is gonna be great too! thanks westie for all of the great content!
IMO this map is extremely balanced for both sides, the French attacking are slightly blinded y spot lights but have a lot of cover at their disposal. the German defenders have initial spawn cover but need to move through open land to get to objectives, both are risk taking and really demand thought towards how you will attack an objective. This map is really good for all kits but medics definitely shine here since they can engage at most distances, if medics become an issue then it is easy to find a flanking route and take them out under the cover of darkness.
The best map of BF1 and probably whole BF franchise. With this map BF1 suddenly became one of the best fps games on market. I knew more than 50% of problems(casual gameplay etc) are due to map design. This map and also french DLC maps offer great tactical gameplay and are mostly balanced. I am having fun nowadays with BF1. Glad to see PC community getting revived again with this awesome map.

@collision I think it's just something dice added to the map for aesthetics, no real changes to the gameplay. It looks very cool from the spawn screen. Westie had said that this "artillery" came down on objectives your team was trying to capture, which made me assume that it was some type of behemoth that aided your team when capturing an objective. However, after playing a few matches myself, I think it was just put in as a feature to the new map with no effect on gameplay. As for the activation, I believe that it is totally random

I don't know if it's just me but there are no servers dedicated to only nieville nights for Xbox one. Basically in order to play the new map you have to go through the whole rotation of the other they shall not pass maps. Very frustrating.

Needs to be a bit darker. That will make the use of spot flares more important.

Front lines on Nivelle Nights is really good. Lots of flank routes. I'm really enjoying this map so far.
