I know what struggle means. I'm taking life one day at a time and trying to reteach myself to stay positive. I don't have a spouse to help me out, but I have to believe that I can do this. Yes, I still get angry.

You're right - a bit of grafting for your living never did anyone any harm and I know all about growing up dirt poor - I honestly feel sorry for kids who never get to do anything, or want for anything, because where are the Life Lessons? How do they ever learn to look after themselves? And as for parents, rich or poor, it would be wonderful if they could encourage their kids to be the best them they could be. I always liked that Ad - Be The Best You Can BE! In the US Army!.
I could never understand parent's not wanting their kids to do chores, or tidy their room, or earn some pocket money, or learn cause & effect, delayed gratification. How to be a human!
This Privilege Talk is just another contrivance by those that would control us to make some folk feel subordinate or underprivileged on account of a certain mythical class of people. It's mostly nonsense.
Yes, none of us want people to go to sleep hungry or without a roof over their head. We don't want them to leave their home because they can't take care of themselves any longer or be sent to the poor house because their body doesn't work any more. A little over a hundred years ago that was a common fate of our forebears. Even if you'd managed to keep food on the table & a roof over your head, once you got old & infirm and if you had no family, that was it - the Poor Law for you.
Most of us have come a long way and we've worked our butts off for it, but there's never any guarantees - the way things are going (the UK on the edge) we could slip back - so, maybe now more than ever, kids do need to learn self-reliance and how to take care of themselves and make something of their lives - that's theirs - not forced on them by others, even if it is Mom or Dad?

Kevin talks about swinging a cat ....and a cat food commercial pops up. 😂😂 Great inspirational talk. Always enjoy the "homesteading" wisdom given here. Not sarcastic but referencong h omesteading in the form of cultivating our needs to survive. Kevin helps keep focus on pulling the weeds and planting fruitful seeds in our lives.

I chose a career in government and worked from 17 until I retired. Because I have a government pension as well as retirement pension I am still paying tax at the age of 74. I have in laws who chose to stay home and take every handout available. In monetary terms I am probably poorer off financially.

Thank you for working for a living, and yes it's sad. I have a sister who milks the system. I offered her a job working in social media making $10k a month, and she wouldn't take it because she would "lose her welfare benefits." Discusting.

It’s funny how every choice, small or not affects life.
When you’re 21 you could choose to drink or not, smoke or not.
Just certain things in life you can choose to work hard at something to accomplish a goal or you could set back complaining and point fingers at people who you think screwed ypu up in life and whine.
Just go out and do it.
I’ve never watching the Olympics, don’t seem to be missing much.
Way back there around some trees it looks like dark figured kinda peeping around.
