Just followed you on the gram. I just started using the rings a couple weeks ago at the gym, what a great way to mix things up and not just lift weights all the time.

Ring dips will humble you real quick, I can do regular dips with over a 100lbs but just body weight on rings it looks like my arms are being hit with a taser just to do 1 rep lol
@pan peter It's not really odd it's just what it is lol. You don't have a stable surface to push off from so the whole exercise from just holding yourself up is a balancing act and then add going down and then going back up.... it will make you feel weak if you're not use to it lol
For me it’s the other way around, i’ve been training on rings for over 6 months now and I can do sets of 5 ring dips with +60lbs but when I change to regular dips, they feel so awkward
Also an ex-elite gymnast here, you nailed it for the most part. A lot of it comes from time under tension and straight arm pressing work. Pull-Ups/Push ups only do so much. Static holds, straight arm presses, and pushing your limits with time under tension is what really tears up the muscle fibers and builds those crazy lean muscles. Always pushing to failure then working past failure all while practicing good form.
I've been training with rings for almost two months now, and it has changed my strength level so much. It has carried over to my martial arts training very well, you helped inspire me to grab a set so thank you for that!

Hey-rings are awesome!! I am currently doing a mix of body weight/weights, and use rings every workout. One exercise not mentioned is rings vertical push-ups done in a completely inverted position. Don't expect to achieve that any time soon as it is an elite level move in terms of difficulty. I will likely start doing handstand push-ups on the floor using a wall for balance. They are also pretty hard.

Nice video brother. I been doing pull-ups for 6 months from 2 reps to 13 on rings. Only just started ring dips after being able to do 50 standard dips on bar. Geez those ring dips are exponentially more difficult. I’m maxed at around 4 reps. I’ll keep you post on my progress. Stay safe my man.
After I reached 4x10 reps of dips on Bara I have now transitioned to ring dips. Once I can do 4x10 reps on rips I will start to add weigh with a belt , chain, and weight plates. Or maybe weights in a backpack. Killer exercise!!
My guy! Great video as usual, been doing ring training for the past 6 months and man from the shaking to being able to do all kinds of advanced moves on them feels soo good!
I've thought about this myself and the way I see it, where a bodybuilder will focus on lifting barbells, dumbbells, use machines and supplement with bodyweight exercises to "burn out", calisthenics athletes focus on bodyweight skills and will supplement with weights. My own approach is similar to power-bodybuilding: I treat isometric holds as my main strength movement, then use challenging variations of bodyweight moves to build muscle with a bodybuilding approach.
