    cars stopping it all depends on how busy the street is

      Possibly also varies between states?

    Bells on bikes is just basically a good requirement for warning pedestrians riders are approaching or maybe in their way. No different from a horn on a car. It makes all the sense in the world. If a rider shouts out to someone behind them some walkers won’t respond immediately. With a bell they will! They know it’s distinct from just anyone shouting out. As Tristan points out, it’s not the American macho way to use a bell on a bike. Definitely a cultural thing.

      After making this video & wondering how often it occurred here in Australia, I was walking my dogs at the lake and saw a sign which was telling bike riders to use bells for pedestrians!

    T O ANSWER THAT QUESTIOIN WITH BLOCK NUMBERS. As you know in Australia is street from a street 1,3,5-2,4,6 in the USA say you have dot on map it to do with distant from the dot your house number is. That what Tristan was talking about.

    • @whymeeveryone
      @whymeeveryone Месяц назад

      Point on the map no matter where you live north, south, east and west it the distant you you are from the dot not so the start of the street,

    • @CheekyKoala
      @CheekyKoala  Месяц назад

      So a bit like numbering on rural roads where the number indicates distance from the start of the road? (503 would be 5.03kms….)

    Roos and Emus can't walk backwards, I like the never take a backward step mentality. We tend to trip over a lot but were still standing. Americans know little about the World and even less about the USA. It took me a while to believe my American friends knew a little about their own state but bugger all about the others or what I thought was common knowledge about the USA in general. They are the most ununited United States you could imagine. Our schools can't be too bad. Even I know that QLD really isnt another Country. And it was Handball at Granville Boys, and we produced Hoges so it's Handball. It's a bloody bell, harden up Trist Old Mate. I xx my Kids and Grand Terrors, screw anyone else. I am too old to waste xx

      The first time that I realised that there are Americans who don’t know anything (or much) about other parts of their country, I was somewhat flabbergasted! I realise that there’s a lot that I don’t know about states such as WA & QLD, but I’m certainly not oblivious! They’re not very united are they 😂😂
