All I can say to this:
You don't know how long I've waited to see every cheap, evil, and nasty AI controlled character in this game to get brutally maimed with such vigorous beauty of such amazingly done attack timing combos as this. Human controlled or credited as tool assisted, ENTIRELY satisfying. C: A very good, entertaining video to find that has lifted this warrior spirit after so long having suffered this game's hardships many years ago. XD
did ikr! shit hits the fan exactly at Bark, he can absolutely push ur shit in if he catches u with some combos. The only later game character that never game me trouble was Fang, his attacks dont seem to break shields, but man...Metal Sonic was my bane for so long xD that dude beat the ever living shit outta me 😂 ahhh good times lol

Because the internet is fucking stupid. This game is made by Sega AM2, the guys behind Virtua Fighter and its legit. This is a great fighting game with custom combos, juggles and a shitload of personality. I've had the pleasure of playing this game in the arcade. Fun fact: this was Sonic's very first polygonal game.

as someone with both the gems collection version and x360 version the only major differences are x360 is hd, online, and you can play as metal, robotnik, and honey

Also, Sonic turned into Super Sonic at 10:23... Not 9:52.

Calvin Torgerson People rag on this game for having a pathetically easy single player. They aren't exactly wrong, you CAN win the game by spamming one button. However, there are legitimate fighting mechanics and things implemented that make the multiplayer quick and fun to play. Look up a tournament for this game.

I really appreciate how the TAS player played basically in-character as Sonic. For everything up through Metal 1, Sonic's calm, laid back, and perhaps a little bit cocky as he's playing around with the opponent while still having control of the situation... That's normal for Sonic (even if in the games this can and has blown up in his face). The instant he turns Super? That's where he stops screwing around and gets serious... and uh, Metal 2 died in 5 seconds to prove the point.

How does this game look so good? Like obviously all the models are low-poly, but if anything the game manages to make that look like an intentional choice rather than a limitation of the hardware. The shadows, lighting, reflections in that one stage, the effects, and the fact that this is locked at 60FPS honestly make it look better than SA1 in some regards. Was this enhanced in some way for the Gems Collection? I can’t imagine it looked this way on original hardware in ‘96
