I used to think that Vancouver deserved to win the Cup here, but honestly, after finally seeing this entire game, hell no. They screwed up almost everything they could have screwed up here. Didn't pass, most shots were from super far out, and honestly, they were never tough enough to win a Cup. Having agitators and top scorers who can't fight doesn't make you Cup-worthy in these settings; it makes you play sloppily.
My Favorite Modern-Day Stanley Cup Finals, the 2010-2011 Boston Bruins knocked out Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, and Tampa Bay Lightning in the Playoffs, and beating Vancouver Canucks in 7 games.
“ Save By Thomas “ Three Words that will haunt any team we played in the 2011 Playoffs :) While we lost the last Stanley cup, I have plenty of hope for our current Bruins ! Let’s Go BRUINS !!! I’m Black and Gold until I’m Dead And Cold
as a fan of the 4 major boston teams, ive seen them all suck, all be poorly run and laughed at and ive seen the opposite as well. ill tell you this, theres nothing like watching the NHL team you root for win the cup. watching the patriots win is always exciting but its not the same as the NHL. there are games every other night for almost 2 full months.... you need to win 16 games against the best teams in games as physical as any NFL game. theres more intensity in 1 NHL playoff game than there is in an entire 7 game NBA series. and baseball today is almost unwatchable. I loved watching baseball when I was younger but over the past 5+ years ive really been turned off by it. hopefully you get to see the coyotes win it all one day. (a few years ago they went to the west finals right?) sadly I feel like your a ways off, but the west is pretty weak right now and you have lots of great trade chips and one or two good drafts could change everything. good luck
pat442389 2012 west finals, I went to game 1 (coyotes lost the game 4-2 and the series 4-1, to one of our biggest rivals also who later won the cup which hurt even more) we haven’t been to the playoffs since but whenever we resume play this year I think the coyotes can make it (that is if we resume which I assume we will)
ANTON KOSS with this pandemic and possible resumption without fans I don’t care, if the coyotes win their way into the playoffs and somehow win it all in front of no fans it will still mean just as much
It was hard to believe that this was the first time in the long and generally successful history of the Bruins that they played in game seven of the Cup finals.
I saw this game when I was only a few months old with my dad. I obviously didn’t remember anything, but when we won my dad said he celebrated so hard he woke me up and I cried so hard
Yes bro@@ i can't believe that the Bruins made it too the STANLEY CUP finals 😳 😢 same with the Canucks !!..I want the Bruins too win 🏆 😫 🙏 😪 😎 I'm from Springfield ,Massachusetts!!!
Always winning the Cup is better at home. But if you have to win it on the road its nice winning it in a Canadian city that truly understands and respects the game. No other city in the US gives it the same as Boston.
i’ve always been a Bruins fan, and i hated all the Canucks in 2011, except for one guy… Luongo… i’ve always loved him as a goalie and respected him as a man… one of my all time favorite players.👍🏼
If it was Philly vs. Vancouver, I might root for Vancouver and Vancouver would’ve won. I also have friends who are Bruin fans, that’s another reason why I rooted for Boston. Also, Mark Recchi was retiring and I wanted him to go out on top. Last, but not least, no American-born goalie had won the Cup since Mike Richter did it with my Rangers in 1994, which was also against the Canucks.
@@ActiveFire533 no you wouldn’t have. You beat them, 5-4 in overtime and it would’ve been a matchup between Martin St. Louis, Vincent Lecavalier and Steven Stamkos vs. the Sedin twins (Daniel and Henrik) and Ryan Kessler.
Mike Richter was f***ing amazing. The Rangers' run in '94 was as good as hockey gets, especially the Rangers/Devils series and the Finals. (B's fan here with mad respect).
What an utter disappointment for Canucks fans! The '94 Canucks lost but they were overachievers who lost to a stacked Rangers team and nearly won. McLean played an amazing series and would have won the Conn Smythe had they managed to win game 7 in New York. This Canucks team in 2011 had more talent than the '94 team, but none of its heart, grit, and character! Luongo, the Sedins, Kessler all underachieved. Luongo was an embarrassment, and on this series alone should have to wait a long time before being considered for the hockey hall of fame, if ever. No moral victories here for Canucks fans. This is as close to the cup as we will get.
Both went to seven games though yeah they should’ve beaten the Rangers in 1994 as that Game 7 was a one score game unlike this one which was a 4-0 shellacking
Luo had one of his mediocre performances if not poor performances in this game. he wasn't dialed in at all it seemed. Especially on the Marchand goal where he slid into him. Not to mention the Canucks were too beat up over the course of the playoffs and having already lost a few guys before the playoffs like Malhotra. Losing Hamhuis was the huge blow... trying to hip check Lucic was a real bad idea.
Luo got damned after his criticism on Thomas. Vancouver won tight in home in every game. The Bruins hammered them in Boston. It went to seven, but the Bruins were the better team
@@williamkanejr3233 I hate to say it but the 2009 Bruins were my favorite even though they won in 2011. That was the year they won as many fights as they did games while also scoring the most goals and allowing the fewest. I wasn't old enough for the Big Bad Bruins and Lunchpail ACs of the 70's but that was the team I thought would have fit right in. The 2011 team had a bit more talent but 2009 were my own personal badasses. The whole entire team ganging up on Steve Ott and Sean Avery in the Dallas game, Lucic knocking out Komisarek, Thornton, Hnidy and Stuart getting into scraps, Lucic putting Van Ryn through the glass....2011 didn't have that kind of ferocity but definitely made up for it with the Cup.
@@ReflectionOfPerfection I enjoyed the 2008-09 Bruins with the fact that they would fight anyone anytime. But they should have steamrolled Carolina in the second round.

@43:11 "this is an innocent play where players were looking back to see where the puck is coming". Seriously? Most guys don't jump in the air spontaneously just before hitting another player that they did not see.
Was the pregame interview with Kesler really necessary? He’s on the ice preparing for the biggest game of his life and you ask him those dumb questions. Ridiculous
Rahdog No one did, but when nbc asks you and you reject, word gets out. It doesn’t look great. So he was basically forced to take part in this shitty interview that you could tell he did not want to be a part of. Hey that’s sports broadcasting though, whatever is the most entertaining to fans.

Bobby Orr is ( was ) still the "the best hockey player ever..as he was a natural talent that just like people talked about Larry Bird was "playing chess while other were playing checkers"...Same with Bobby Orr,he not only was "outhinking other's he actually did it with ease...nobody could keep up with him"!!
Unless Edmonton does it before McDavid's contract is up, I don't expect it to happen for a very long time. No other team is really close. Players are earning about 30% less raw money in Canada and still are getting taxed more.

no town has ever taken a loss worse than vancouver.
Why RUclips? Why must you torture me by putting this in my recommendations? Although I absolutely love the thumbnail. Hard to believe this will be 10 years ago next year. Go Nucks!!
correction guys milt schmidt was a 4 time stanley cup champion he won two as a player and two as a general manager ... he was the GM of the Big Bad Bruins until 1974
Even though I know everything that happens and when it happens, I still get excited on the close calls and good saves!
Our Canucks deserve to win the Stanley cup. I literally pray every year hoping that they can win.... 🥺🥺🙏
I wasn’t paying attention to hockey as much back then but how and why did they not even show up in the crucial Game 7 ?
@@RYMAN1321that first goal just drained the life out of them… they were the better team the whole first period. Such a heartbreak for the nucks. They absolutely choked
Still love to watch this game. This Bruins team should have won a couple more,But hey they cannot take this one away.
this game was a nightmare
we kicked Vancouvers ass
for Vancouver, I agree!
It was a dream!
Games 3-7 were just a never ending nightmare.
@@dukinuki751 In that game yeah for sure, but the series went 7 games
I used to think that Vancouver deserved to win the Cup here, but honestly, after finally seeing this entire game, hell no. They screwed up almost everything they could have screwed up here. Didn't pass, most shots were from super far out, and honestly, they were never tough enough to win a Cup. Having agitators and top scorers who can't fight doesn't make you Cup-worthy in these settings; it makes you play sloppily.
The cuncuks were so damn good that season
@Luke Tallen The Bruins can
Best canucks ever, although 94 canucks were closer to winning the cup
idk about that cause the canucks didn't initially didn't have a 3-2 lead in 1994 like in 2011@@teobratanic654
Yeah, 3 - 2. Vancouver had a chance to tie the game, but it was blocked.
@@dampmittcs they had a chance to win the cup in game 6 too since they had a 3-2 series lead going into that game
Still hurts. Hopefully 2 years until the Canucks are legit contenders
timmy no goals.....Best goalie of that playoffs
this was the best game ever
Legendary game
I just wish to see my coyotes in the finals one day
as a fan of the 4 major boston teams, ive seen them all suck, all be poorly run and laughed at and ive seen the opposite as well. ill tell you this, theres nothing like watching the NHL team you root for win the cup. watching the patriots win is always exciting but its not the same as the NHL. there are games every other night for almost 2 full months.... you need to win 16 games against the best teams in games as physical as any NFL game. theres more intensity in 1 NHL playoff game than there is in an entire 7 game NBA series. and baseball today is almost unwatchable. I loved watching baseball when I was younger but over the past 5+ years ive really been turned off by it. hopefully you get to see the coyotes win it all one day. (a few years ago they went to the west finals right?) sadly I feel like your a ways off, but the west is pretty weak right now and you have lots of great trade chips and one or two good drafts could change everything. good luck
pat442389 2012 west finals, I went to game 1 (coyotes lost the game 4-2 and the series 4-1, to one of our biggest rivals also who later won the cup which hurt even more) we haven’t been to the playoffs since but whenever we resume play this year I think the coyotes can make it (that is if we resume which I assume we will)
ANTON KOSS with this pandemic and possible resumption without fans I don’t care, if the coyotes win their way into the playoffs and somehow win it all in front of no fans it will still mean just as much
Heck no
Maybe but it might not be as the coyotes
It was hard to believe that this was the first time in the long and generally successful history of the Bruins that they played in game seven of the Cup finals.
30:00 yah but in 2019 vegas got screwed over by ohalleren it’s fine tho but he calls bad penalties that’s for sure.
1:44:50 "marchy, marchy"
I saw this game when I was only a few months old with my dad. I obviously didn’t remember anything, but when we won my dad said he celebrated so hard he woke me up and I cried so hard
Yes bro@@ i can't believe that the Bruins made it too the STANLEY CUP finals 😳 😢 same with the Canucks !!..I want the Bruins too win 🏆 😫 🙏 😪 😎 I'm from Springfield ,Massachusetts!!!
I miss hockey
43:16 There is nothing more awesome than a mic picking up a F-bomb for all the viewing public to hear on the broadcast of sports 😂😂😂
Innocent play for sure.
Never realized Vancouver rioted as they did until I saw the Documentary on U Tube
Always winning the Cup is better at home. But if you have to win it on the road its nice winning it in a Canadian city that truly understands and respects the game. No other city in the US gives it the same as Boston.
1:53:00 Tim’s voice is different then I thought it would sound. So long ago
Well considering Mark recchi started his NHL career in 1988 and this was his final game yeah it was a while ago
i'm from toronto and watched this game, couldn't imagine if toronto lost game 7 that would be insane... at least vancouver made it there
You could see the sadness on his face. I'm happy he made up for it with the Panthers.
i’ve always been a Bruins fan, and i hated all the Canucks in 2011, except for one guy… Luongo… i’ve always loved him as a goalie and respected him as a man… one of my all time favorite players.👍🏼
If it was Philly vs. Vancouver, I might root for Vancouver and Vancouver would’ve won. I also have friends who are Bruin fans, that’s another reason why I rooted for Boston. Also, Mark Recchi was retiring and I wanted him to go out on top. Last, but not least, no American-born goalie had won the Cup since Mike Richter did it with my Rangers in 1994, which was also against the Canucks.
in this year, if tampa beat boston in the conference finals, we would’ve most likely swept them
@@ActiveFire533 no you wouldn’t have.
@@johnr.8275 I’m not saying otherwise, but I kind of prefer John Vanbiesbrouck.
@@jasonarokiaraj9817 They both were absolute beasts!
The only “punching motion” was during the Vancouver street riots afterwards. 😂
Western champs and the fans-that-best-boo-Bettman.
Its a consolation prize. #Canucks
most noice all night..ugh
Hey bruins fans, you’ll always have this game
Other than the 2004 Patriots, who, in a word, exemplified badassery (is that even a word?), this was my favorite of all the Boston championships.
2004 Red Sox came close. Apart from the first 3 games in the ALCS they were virtually unbeatable after August 8th that season
@@ReflectionOfPerfection good point. Either one makes a good case for bigger badasses.
@@ReflectionOfPerfectionThat was a longer drought so yes I do think that was more meaningful
Game 7 against Chicago...big PP opportunity and they give up a shorty with
Damn I never saw that till u mentioned it now!
When bittersweet symphony plays on the organ tho
Do you ever watch titanic and hope that just once it’ll miss the iceberg and give us a happier ending?
That’s what watching this as a Canucks fan is like.
Couldn’t agree any more gosh I miss the sedin era I wish it had never ended … 😓
One day the Canucks will win the cup
only in the video games they will
KyLe BachMann maybe in real life one day...
Idk. Maybe, maybe not.
Never
Borna Arabi yea right one day we will
Sorry weren't there two brothers from Sweden on this Canucks team I think their names were MISSSEDIN in action
1:48:28…..I don’t know about you but that was the quote/story of game 7 and the series. To this day that a hostile crowd Gary ever experienced for obvious reasons.
Aw not this NBC feed! I want the CBC feed!
Why anyone would want to watch this nightmare again is beyond me.
@43:11 "this is an innocent play where players were looking back to see where the puck is coming". Seriously? Most guys don't jump in the air spontaneously just before hitting another player that they did not see.
Who’s here when Canucks is in fire in 2024, at several points of the season being number one in the league?
I’m here now that they’re in the finals
Was the pregame interview with Kesler really necessary? He’s on the ice preparing for the biggest game of his life and you ask him those dumb questions. Ridiculous
Rahdog No one did, but when nbc asks you and you reject, word gets out. It doesn’t look great. So he was basically forced to take part in this shitty interview that you could tell he did not want to be a part of. Hey that’s sports broadcasting though, whatever is the most entertaining to fans.
@@fazeraptor8598 if he really, really didn't want any part of it he could have got out of it, just have the trainer, equipment guy, even the coach could have made up something.

had to watch this after last night
This is the first time I've watched the full game since that Wednesday in June, almost 9 years ago. Funny that I obviously knew what the outcome was going to be this time, yet I still raised a fist and yelled "YES" when Marchy scored the empty netter.
I was alive for the Cup wins in '70 and '72, but I was too young to appreciate them. I'm happy I got to see this one when I could appreciate it.
Last year was disappointing, but this year the Bruins have proved they deserved to be there. Let's hope they get another shot at it later this year. LETS GO BRUINS!
NESN is replaying the CUP Run, the Finals should start this week.
That was the best series...only thing that defies this Bruins game 7 come back was the Pat's being down to the Falcons 28 To 3 in the third quarter and beating them 34 to 28!!Thank you Bruins!!I have face mask with a "Bruins theme"... totally awesome...despite this Pandemic...I am content that the Bruins did it again!!
I just want them to win one more before I die.
I’m just so happy with the outcome of this video, GO BRUINS! 🐻🐻🐻
48:01
I miss these days
I just want a non-albertan Canadian team to win
At this point, I just want any Canadian team to win the Stanley cup.
Unless Edmonton does it before McDavid's contract is up, I don't expect it to happen for a very long time. No other team is really close. Players are earning about 30% less raw money in Canada and still are getting taxed more.
Bruins are due for another championship this year, and I think they may just do it this year!! I hope so! It has been a decade! I miss Thomas by the way! He was ALWAYS great! But Rasp is great too:)
@MGH they’ve won their last few games, they seem to be back on track!
It’s okay canucks fans we know what it feels like now after 2019 😭😭
i am still recovering from that day
Two goals on four shots. Kill me.
As a Canucks fan I was hoping it would end 4-0 🤣. At least you got one at the end.
Don't forget 2013 finals.
Thomas, Lucic, Seguin, Boychuck... brings back good memories
CorbuloCDN1 I take it you’re missing Hockey too? Haha
@@ryanp6190 Oh yes, big time. Especially since the Bruins were doing SO GOOD this year!
CorbuloCDN1 I know bummer. Normally some time off for the old guys would be nice, but they’ve been on fire and it sucks that their momentum is getting disrupted.
But what can ya do?
@@CorbuloCDN1 hey guess what hockey's back and Boston is playing Tampa in round 2 tomorrow
No hockey no problem, I'll watch this till i'm dead go B's
Same Go Bruins

i'm surprised it went to game 7, the Bruins were spanking the Canucks the whole series.
Luongo stood on his head in Games 1 and 5
Too bad these two teams with these players never got a rematch… would’ve been so good
if it hadn't been for Thomas' heroics, Brad Marchand would have been given strong consideration for the Conn Smythe trophy....
1:54:36 It's hard to tell who's got more nuclear heat: The Boston Bruins for winning the Cup, or Gary Bettman for being Gary Bettman.
How bout the Canucks audio team, or who ever plays the music in there, playing Dirty Water, Boston's infamous win song for like all their sports even today.
Thought i would watch this and get a buzz during this lockdown bs
