I watched a B&W image float across our 19 inch TV screen as a 13/14 year old and was blown away, feeling I was about to go where I have never gone before. Never imagined that this briefly described show in the TV Guide was to become a life-long passion. I finally go ahold of the first two seasons of this 'pre-trek' and am falling in love again as a 71 year old. It is seriously feeding the kid in me again. It feels like I've gone home again. Only sad part of it all are the missing friends and fans that are no longer here; how much they would be excited and loving this. As I go through the new episodes, they are on my mind, so I will be in touch with them again, as I smile, laugh, and cry, drinking up these new adventures for them. You will look back at these times years from now, and understand this better. MIKE
Our security officer is La’an Noonien-Singh. I assume you remember that surname. The two original series eps that might help jog your memories are, Amok Time (where we meet T’Pring), and Operation Annihilate, where we learn about Kirk’s brother, Sam. The good Doctor there is also in a couple original series eps, A Private Little War, and That Which Survives.
I am really hardcore on this. SNW is in the DISCO universe, so it does allow for some changes here and there like the backstory on Spock/T'Pring - apparently there was a real relationship going on and T'Pring waited 11 years to give him the heave ho.
I get that. "Yes, let's make it relatable!! Drop a few F-bombs!!" 🤮 No. Not cool. And certainly not grown up. Going with profanity as "cool" means you're not able to write stuff. Oh. Discovery. With Space Jesus... 🙄🙄🤮🤮
There are problems with the episode, but they are fairly mild. With having a lets get teh gang together and then have mission of the week, meant that the issue of the week was given the short end of the stick. But I was left with a huge ass smile on my face.
Yeah, it seems like they’re not using the same uniforms they had in Discovery! Looks like it’s a simple black undergarment or piece of fabric sewn into the collar rather than the overhanging built-in design they were using before.
@@spamsir this is actually a slightly updated version of original trek uniform, which was a simple tshirt and pants and a mini skirt for the women, so no, it doesnt!!!
I'm questioning if the creators realize the irony of the name. It's almost like we live a dystopia separated by classes, sustained by materialism, substance, and meaningless enjoyment.
This show had the opportunity to abandon the abomination of Duhscovery and have this be a fresh start realigned with the Canon Timeline but they wasted that opportunity. Now in season 2, the studio has finally given up the pretense that it is directly connected to canon and not a different timeline, ala the Kelvin Timeline of the J. J. Abrams movies. I suppose since they also jumped the shark with the Rhapsody episode, after the 10th and final episode maybe they will finally confess that we Old School Trekkers have been right all along. That the reason for everything looking a bit off is because of the contractual obligation to have everything appear at least 25% different since they don't have the full rights to the intellectual property. Speaking of contracts, the obligation to do 5 seasons of Duhscovery is why it stayed on so long, not because of the few people watching it.

Admiral April was the first Captain of the Enterprise. T'prin was in Tos too when Kirk and Spock had to fight on Vulcan
"This doesn't look like ponfar to me." LOL! So glad I found your channel. Keep up the great reactions.

Spock was off in space, like all the time. Even for a race that's got a longer lifespan than humans that's a bit much.
The DISCO universe is just the Star Trek universe.
I like the show
10:50 didn't happen yet
Thank goodness you're staying at tv-pg I got sick of all the bad language this is like the original trek without all the really bad language

These uniforms need black collars. Not the stupid DISCOVERY ones though.
