    I like the concept that GETchan admin regularly lurks the web in search of rare socialist songs, and that this hobby is well known in their social life and considered normal

    As an Outer Mongolian, it feels very weird and somehow uncanny to hear this song. Side note, before the Sino-Soviet split, Mao was called "a great proletarian Comrade of Asian peoples" in Mongolia, and after Mongolia chose the USSR as their final ally against China, we lost contact with our Inner Mongolian kin, and Mao became a "revisionist imperialist lapdog" here. Also, a well known Mongolian singer Adarsuren was reprimanded and demoted from the army because he sang this song to visiting Chinese border officials in 1965.

    • @GETchan

      It must also be unusual to hear Mandarin loanwords used in Mongolian like this.

      Since you're Mongolian, I'm curious as to the quantity of the use of direct loan words from Russian in outer Mongolia and Mandarin in Inner Mongolia, do they differ from each other, how popular are loan words in these respective regions compared to new words developed from native roots. Also, what are your views on Cyrillic Mongolian script and Traditional Mongolian script?

    • @mishka3284
      @mishka3284 3 года назад +6

      @@My-nl6sg I’m Mongolian, and I’ll say that there is a large amount of Russian loanwords in Proper Mongolia and a large influence from the West as well. In Inner Mongolia there is a lot of Chinese loanwords and we don’t really talk with Inner Mongolia so I’m not sure, we have far more relations with Russia and Kazakhstan as well as US and Korea. China is really but foreign for us; we are much more akin to our Russian brothers and Central Asian allies.

    I'm genuinely impressed. I've no idea where I'd actually be able to purchase some of the flexi-discs from this era in China, especially with the non-Mandarin songs. Well done!

    • @GETchan
      @GETchan  3 года назад +11

      From what I can tell they released these flexi-discs with The Internationale on one side and The East Is Red on the other in various languages in 1969. I have only been able to find the Tibetan, Mongolian, and Mandarin releases, though. But the existence of the Uyghur and Yanbian Korean versions of The Internationale make me suspect they must have been released for those languages too. Maybe even Zhuang due to its status usually being on par with the others, but that’s just pure speculation.
