This is my first time suiting in public with Ahkara! I called the mall ahead of time and just said I'd be coming in an animal costume and didn't want to alert security or anything because I wasn't there to do anything illegal. My handler/best friend was there to explain things to people as well. This entire video is basically me figuring out what I should do in suit and how to interact with things and people. I still felt kind of awkward but I hope I get past that. I got super hot but it was super fun!
My hometown is small and our mall is small as well x3 also it was a weekday during work hours so not too many people. Good for a first time suiting.

@@sebasami2003 It's not like they hit the baby lol. The only reason they cried was because they didn't know what the fursuit was at all. I know a lot of kids that cried because they saw cartoon (Disney) costumes at Disney World or at amusement park or wherever. Yes, a fully grown adult is in the fursuit, but I'm pretty sure all they're doing is performing as a character in a public place. They were not going up to children to make them cry or scare them or even hurt them, they're just trying to perform and make people happy. It doesn't mean everyone likes the act, they're allowed to go and do whatever they want to do

You might be surprised. The internet is a good tool for finding your local furs. Covid is kinda screwing everyone up with meet ups and cons though. I see people fursuiting in public at the most random times. It's a lot of fun. I haven't run into negative people, but kids get carried away sometimes and will pull your tail and stuff. It's important to have a good handler when in public.

When ever there’s a person fursuiting at Walmart or something.. There is *_ALWAYS_* a part where you hear a baby crying.

I wear realistic looking heads with glass eyes (I see thru mesh on the tear ducts) which I know can be a little scary for small kids. But most kids love it. I only wear a partial, so no full body fur- which I think is less hug-able overall.
Not a normal day in retail without at least one crying child. It's just a thing that happens.

Hey, here's a tip for interacting with kids! Crouch down to their level, offer them a high five (like you did), and then open your arms for a hug. If parents try to shove kids at you who are clearly scared, pretend you're more afraid of them than they are of you. To do that, you can lay down on the floor and cover your face. Some whining or whimpering sounds helps.

I use to be one of those kind of people that wanted to shoot a furry on sight and I'd see them as stupid and people just being unintelligent. Until one day my best friend wanted to go to a panel that was for furries. I was gonna go along because I thought it'd be funny and weird to watch stupid people (memes ig). But I found some of them very cute and the personalities cute. I use to run around Walmart with the maskamals. And it was fun because I got to not be shy in public so in the end I saw fur suits and furries cute because they let me be whoever I want to be without feeling embarrassed.

The most used definition is someone who is a fan of anthropomorphic animals (animals that have human characteristics), also not saying that people who like anthro animals are furries, they can choose to be apart or not be apart of the furry fandom. If I were you, if you ever liked anthro animals (not saying you do, mostly saying to people that might) can be apart of the fandom that isn't bad or toxic. Just be yourself for who you are in the fandom, you don't have to have a fursuit or like the fandom. Be apart of the fandom that you like, not what others like

I feel terrible about my face being seen, it's not really anxiety, it's more of trying to keep my identity a little more secret, the character in my profile pic is one I'd love to make a toony fursuit of as well as my friends fursona, i may not be a furry but I still love the idea. Also it's to be determined if I come out as a furry or as a normal person outside of the fandom, I still trust that I'll admire the fandom even if I'm not in it lol

If you ever have the chance (and Covid goes away) I suggest going to a furry convention. They are a ton of fun, everyone is super friendly, and it's easy to be social there with or without a fursuit. I am disabled and have to sit to rest a lot, but total strangers come up and ask why I am just sitting there alone and invite me to hang out with them. You'll never find a more inclusive and fun group of people.
