The Bulldog Bone currently sells for $345 USD which includes shipping within the US. International shipping costs more. (current as of Jan 2024)
Thanks boss ..your the man pat
And we were same green uniforms..
Comparable to a Burly Akimbo designed by someone who understands equipment linkages. But sounds like a few climbers out there need some machining so they can shuttle a prusik or something. Do you think the redundancy would void the mechanical advantage?
@@AdvancedStructuralPruning I would not add a prusik above the Bone, certainly doesn't need it and would make it a real pain to use...
I figured as much. Thanks for bringing something that can compete to the Market. I don't get up there enough to justify $345 when I can work with MRS.
Unless this thing can do what it looks like it can do. And Serviceable!
Can we schedule a test @climbingarborist?
I'd like to find out if he thinks it's safe 🪖🌲
Even though it doesn't have a International stamp of approval

You have me wanting one bad. Bought a hitchhiker cause of you. These videos are not good for my wallet.
You're the man, and i appreciate all the free knowledge
Just get one
@@Sethhaun78 I'll send the email next week I reckon
What a great advert! I can't wait to be able to justify getting another couple of devices. BdB is definitely next.
Looks awesome brother!
Great information. Love all the information you share with everyone. Love watching true professional doing his job.💪
Appreciate it. - Patrick
Thank you
Wow that looks really good. I'm thinking about it
Sure looks awesome 👌
I have one of these as well as the OAR and I love them both. I use the OAR on my lanyard and it’s fantastic for SRT or DRT.
Where can I get the OAR?
What is it..?
In tree stuff seminar that one corporate guy was saying this device and others were not rated..but have wanted to try one..
They’ve been around for about a decade now and I haven’t heard reports of any major accidents, so I’m going to give the thousands of climbers that are, or have used the BDB the benefit of the doubt even if it’s not CE rated.
I would love it with gear on . I'm about 225 make me nervous great product though beautiful
Thank you, appreciate it
Does it flatten rope? Because with my rope runner pro it flattens my drenaline rope so I get creep when I descend, and if I tighten it up a setting it’s too much friction. How does the bull dog bone handle ropes?
Flattens a little bit I suppose. I like it on Courant Squir, that line stays nice and round....
How does it perform with pitch, curious as it looks similar to akimbo and that doesn’t get good reviews with pitch
I really don't climb many sappy softwoods to be honest, mostly hardwoods here. So I don't have a good answer for you....
Thanks for sharing this summary mate. Any idea if it is available in UK/Europe?
Gordon ships worldwide
Is that the supplier if I just search ‘Gordon’?
@@thegreenrevival4424 Gordon is the inventor of the bulldog bone and I think he takes care of the orders and shipping as well.
That weight limit is a bummer for me, I weigh that much without my gear.
Yeah, I think all mechanicals have a weight range or limit. The climbing rope is probably the main factor here, thicker vs thinner line...
I’m around 250 with gear and saw 😢
I'm waiting to start climbing on srt it's safer than drt
There all the same.
Be no better than a rope runner pro, all just mid line attachable friction devices.
It's almost a akimbo..I'm confused as to who made what first .it seems someone had to copy
Bulldog was made first and then akimbo. But yes akimbo is a “better” copy of Bdb
@@heribertobarajas1067 wouldn't that be theft by a corporation
Wow so 2014 ..the akimbo had to have copied
Just from a weight holding perspective, this just doesn't seem r=to be a reasonable option unless you're a scrawny little guy
But How many climbers weigh over 240 with gear? Probably less than 1%. And that entire 1% will only be found in America
@@druss8845Climbing trees isn't for fatties.
Hi Patrick. Just curious. Have you seen my video on the BDB (ruclips.net/video/TB-i1XaCmH4/видео.htmlsi=nSovD9JUDvU4D60d)? I've been using the device since 2018 and have never been dissatisfied. I was told I was foolish to buy this device since it was not certified and required you to sign a waiver as a condition to purchase it. But as soon as I saw the device and tested it, I knew it was trustworthy. You did a great a job on this video, Patrick. Kudos to you, my friend!
Yes Wayne, yours was one of the first that I found a few years back. All the best. - Patrick
