Joe, I am amazed at all of the skills you have in building, plumbing, carpentry, animal care, farming, out of doors plants, animals, hunting, fishing, computer skills, parenting, guns, cooking etc. You are amazing and so accomplished.
The workshop is beginning to come together. Great work. Bless Melissa for rescuing the poor dog from the cold! Poor Joannie. It is difficult for a dog to lose a friend. She should be better in a month or two. But meanwhile, it is very sad.
So glad to see that not everybody just minds it's own selfish life and stops for a dog that is on a place it clearly doesn't belong in those temperatures.. Thank you Melissa for having a heart of gold for animals! And look how that shop is changing into a working place with a homely feeling. And still.. that last shot at the workshop.. that building is So beautiful.. I just love that shop.. after how many years I still am watching both channels, that shot does something for me just as I see the Tent.. Joe, I take my hat off for all you do and respect for the making of both channels and all you do to make such a great legacy and making it public.. that to me is really respecting you and your loved ones all of these years! (Edit, typo mistake)
If I had a workshop I definitely would want a concrete floor to prevent wood moisture damaged and get a bag of sackrett at a time like another viewer suggested to fill in that hole. I have nature stone epoxy in my garage and love it. You are coming along nicely. Glad you got the dog to it's rightful owner.
Thank you Joe for sharing your time with all of us. I am amazed at what you have been able to do with your workshop area. Your vision is quite impressive. Big thank you to both you and Melissa for taking care of the dog and locating the owner. You are both role models for us to admire and learn from to do more good in this world.
I was sitting here crying over the way that baby was grieving she looked so pitiful sitting in that blue chair thank God Melissa that you brought that puppy home you will see a changed dog after a while that is so good of y’all to do that I have always said that a person that does not like animals is a mean person so stay away from them you’re both wonderful people that little puppy would have probably died if you had not given it a home that makes my heart feel so much better knowing but it’s going to help Joanie and give you both much love I hope you get to keep her
Warms my heart to see the dog find its home. Oh yes the shop is looking great. A little clean here and put away there you will be close to being on the home stretch.
Only wonderful nice people will take a strange dog out of the cold and out of the road , and then feed it and give it a warm place to sleep and then find it’s owner and return it in good faith , I commend you Melissa and joe , thank you for caring for your neighbors furry friend.
I am Melissa’s biggest fan having 3 dogs 6 cats and 7 horses, not to mention the cats and dogs at my assisted living homes. Anyone who rescues animals in number 1 in my book. Thanks for doing a good deed and Happy New Year to you both....I am still anxiously waiting for the bonfire Joe 😉
The workshop looks like it is going to be great space. I really like your videos keep up the good work. On the Joe and Zach survival channel that tent camp looks like so much fun during hunting season.
I know that feeling of being in the middle of the project and not wanting to stop. You’ll get back to it soon enough. I’m glad that Melissa brought that dog home with her since it was so cold out. Happy New year!
All right Joe you need to kick back, put a beer in your bottle cooler and hear me out!!! Now thats going to be a nice big workshop, lots room for all your tools, other rooms for projects. Now with the woodworking skills you and your dad have, and all of the amazing furniture and crafts you two have made and shown, you need to make a huge sign that says NORTHERN SECLUSION FURNITURE AND CRAFTS and the two of you should open a furniture shop!!! I know i would be a loyal customer, and im sure a few of your subscribers would be also!!! The stuff the both of you can create is simply amazing and beautiful!!! Thats just my humble opinion Joe, but something to think about!!! I hope you and your family have a great new year, god bless, and take care!!!
Glad the dog was reunited with its owner but even happier that the shop is under way....woohoo!!! I'm looking forward to your dust collection set up and shop layout. As for me, I'm still sticking with my cyclone and hoses. I'm not the " fancy pantsy" kind of guy that has blast gates all over the place....Don't get me wrong wish I had but organizing a shop can leave a man broke..lol
Yummy the food looked so good and Melissa so glad you saved that beautiful dog, The shop looks great, happy trails to y'all be safe in that snow....Lol Down here in Louisiana if we get a few snowflakes we close down lol we celebrate .
I should be back down in Louisiana in a few weeks and will be there for a few weeks. I am glad to see that Crawfish Express has hot boiled Crawfish back in season. I can't wait.
The shop looks great Joe! The way you put the lights will help you alot. It's cute how you have the chairs set up in the shop. That's one way to spend time together in the shop. Lol
Careful making all that bench space. It is way too easy to keep piling things up on them eh, LOL. They look great bud. All that new working room looks great my friend. Things are coming along great !
Hi Joe & Melissa!!! Just found your videos & subscribed right away! I'm was born in Duluth & lived there 'til I was 10. We had some very good friends who lived in Cloquet so we've been there many, many times! I'm sure a lot has changed over the years for sure!!! But really enjoy your videos & look forward to seeing them whenever y'all get a chance!!!
Is there anything your wife cannot cook lol? The shop looks really nice already. Glad the dog and owner was reunited and Melissa brought the poor baby in from the cold.
I'd suggest filling the gutters with gravel. Won't damage the gutter if someone wants to turn it back into a barn for animals and it could be easily removed. Just my thought. If it is covered with boards, rodents will hide in it. Your making it look good though.
I have one of those whole shop vacs in my wood shop. The main 4” duct from mine runs along the ceiling, and it’s not ideal. I would consider using that floor trench to run your vac and air compressor lines out of that room, and into the next. Then they are nice and tucked away but still accessible
Hi Joe. The workshop is looking fabulous. Lots of room for more projects. That was a beautiful dog Melissa rescued, knew it had to be well cared for and not too far from home. Food looks scrumptious. Happy 2020. I imagine by now (Jan 6) you’ve already accomplished a lot more.
Just found your channel a few weeks ago, I’m loving it. So sorry for the loss of your beloved pup. We are big dog lovers and have a stray and a a shelter pup.
Joe the workshop looks great with all the extra room you have you should most definitely build you a man cave with big old flat screen TV on the wall a pool table a place you can kick back and relax watch TV and drink a cold beer keep up the good work enjoy your videos
i would end up keeping the dog if no one claimed it.....thats why i am not allowed to go to a shelter....i would come home with 3 / 4....animals are precious and your best friend.....any way the work shop is looking so much better but again i am tired and i didn't do aything....good night......
I am glad the dog was taken inside to keep it alive. Also glad it's owner came to get it but your other dog needs a friend to help in getting over the loss of it's friend.
Props to Melissa's wonderful cooking and soft animal loving heart! So glad you did the work to bring the owner and puppy together. Perhaps another friend will come along for Joni?
@@NorthernSeclusion Fantastic! She really needs a friend and the way she is constantly being by your side and how playful she reacted to the other dog.. now I'm really exited to see what's going to happen! 🤗
This was my first time I’ve seen your video and I really enjoyed just watching you put that work table together. Sounds silly, but I learned something today. I also appreciated all the camera work. Including the close up of the food!😋 I’ll check out the other videos you’ve got going. Thanks !
If you don’t mind me saying, Joanie needs a friend. Look how she perked up (tail wagging) with someone like herself around. Yeah she loves you both, but you can’t take the place of a four legged friend. Thanks for allowing me to say my piece. Nice video. Oh! and Melissa you should consider putting together a “Northern Seclusion cookbook.” I’d buy a copy even if if were just photocopied pages of food stained recipe cards and papers stapled together. Your cooking rocks!! Can only imagine how it tastes.
I'm glad you and Melissa found the owner to the dog! The shop is looking great, I didn't think it could ever look all that good, but your construction skills are performing magic....can't wait to see the end result.
One things for sure that mess in your workshop will still be waiting for you to come back to clean it up LOLOL. I promise you it will wait for YOU hahaha It's looking GREAT so far God bless and Happy New YEAR!!!
Oh man. I just finished eating dinner, tuned in to NorthernSeclusion and that darn Melissa made me hungry again. That Ham dinner sure looked good. Speaking of looking good, the shop is coming along very nicely. I just love how you just bang something out and it looks so good.
I love your channel. I like watching you work on the shop. The progress is amazing. I could watch you all day and the way you stay busy building and repairing. Couple questions: Where do you stay when you go to work. It sounds like you don't come home every night. Also, do you think you will get another dog to keep Joni company? She needs a companion. Can't wait to continue watching you build out your shop. I wish Melissa would share her recipes with us. She is a great cook. She needs to narrate while she is putting together her meals.
I'd like to send my 3 20-something nephews up to apprentice with you. That level of activity is a better life lesson than 4 years at a state school ever could be. Please beat them till their morale improves!
fill the shop trench mostly full of gravel, then just pour a couple inches of concrete. It will hold up a long time, you won't be driving vehicles over it. Just an idea.

It's starting to look like a factory, not a shop. Another great job Joe your the man!!!!!!
Thank y'all for being so kind to the stray dog.
That dog could be the answer to the loss of Nellie for your other dog. A companion sent by God!
You and your bride sitting in the chairs but the 🔥. Best video ever. The dog found the right place to be lost
Joanie is so beautiful, such a pretty, dog with a lovely temperament, I'd love to give her a hug, she loves being with you Joe
The machine is killing it in the new workshop!!
Thanks to the both of you for caring enough to take care of the stray dog, that shows how big a heart you have. That is what good people do. :-)
It is so good of you guys caring for that dog and trying to find it's owner!!! If I lost my dog it would kill me, especially in that weather!!!!!!!!
