My five year old son and I watch your videos right before he goes to bed. We enjoy them very much! He said all you need for the new shop is paint on the floor and a new carpet. Lol
Hi Joe. Been watching all your past videos since finding this channel, and the thought struck me that the trenches in the floor could be a good send, and put to good use. I have been an owner/operator of a cabinet shop for many years (retired for the last 20 years, 85 now) that when planing machine layout an efficient dust collector system that was on a central vac the problem was how to duct the exhaust pipes from the machines without obstructing the machine workings. For example; the dust from a table saw or sander or router usually finishes up on the floor under the machine, so use this space to route the 'take away pipe' in the trench instead of the overhead route. With the judicious placement of your dust producers you can connect all the machines into the main trunk line with a flex duct out the bottom of the machines without having a spaghetti of duct pipes over your head or fowling the piece you are working on. Fitting gates to each individual machines would make a system with the max suction to each machine in operation. (Another plus would also be a few floor sweep inlets located in suitable areas. 4" PVC makes a good pipe system with smooth corners and fittings. One more idea for you. With a central located compressor run 3/4" PEX line around the perimeter of the shop with strategically located valves to plug in a line to run your air tools. This saves many yards of flex hose pipe snaking across the floor . Enjoying your inventive videos, good luck with the cleanup of the farm. Looking good.
If you take that Box Fan and Hang it Squarely in Front of the Stove Pipe it would help to Circulate the warm air better. We heated with a wood stove most of our life and it really helped.
Can't wait tell you get the work shop done and start building new project if I was closer I would have you build me a bedroom set like you built for the tent you do a owsem job and I enjoy watching both channels and only a few more weeks and can't wait to see the winter trip to the tent thanks for the great video s
Few times I watch your videos Subscribe today cause I really really enjoy every video you put amazing and say hello to your wife and God bless you guys
I love watching these videos, my sister-in-law and family live in Maple Grove Minnesota and they always show us how cold it is, and I show them pictures of my kids in the pool here in sunny Florida. Ha ha.
YOUR SHOP IS LOOKING GREAT! BUT PLEASE SWEEP THE FLOOR...IT IS DRIVING MY OCD NUTSS!! LOLOL!~ WE ENJOY ALL THE BARN, FARM HOUSE AND CABIN!~ HAPPY NEW YEAR~
i'm watching the video i hear you say , "we haven't barbecued in a while", i know what's coming, pork steaks, ribs and maybe chops! made my day! shop looks great! You and Melissa take care!
I tell ya, Joe...between your barn>shop re-vamp and BCTruck/Brad's garage>shop revamp, you have both inspired and motivated me to see what I can do with my organizing my garage/house into a more storage-friendly work space. Thanks for the kick in the butt. Please let Melissa know we all miss her smile and hope she feels better soon!
That is sure a lot nicer than the - 40 we are having up here. Great deal on that sander. Well the shop is coming along nicely and with a good feed like that you will be sleeping like a baby. Thanks for the update,
Hey Joe. You may have already thought of this, but figured I’d throw it out there. You could infill the trenches with blue board insulation and just leave it 4” from the top. Drill and dowel into the sides of the trench and pour 4” of concrete with a little rebar or mesh. Just an idea. I really enjoy all your videos, thanks for all the consistent content!
you prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any help you can give me
@Jasiah Ian thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Love the video and the shop is looking so much better youve done a great job fixing it up,and oh that food yummy you go Joe, hope Mrlissa gets to feeling better, the furbaby loves you Joe yall have a great one,
Hi Joe. Thanks for another great video, they are my favourite thing to watch in the evening here in New Zealand. Have you thought about filling the trenches with the rubble from that small wall near the workbenches that you mentioned knocking down. Then just a few bags of ready mix concrete over the top and to level. Take care.
Shops looking much better! The ply over the troth is much better than laying the full sheets across the opening. I’d block that low area and just fill it with some Quick-Crete.
Joe you sounded so exhausted on your last trip to the hen house. That one hen that's making all that noise is telling you they need a 🐓, lol. Great job on the floor. Looks much better and definitely a lot safer. Hope Melissa is feeling better now. I have been pretty sick for the last few weeks. Hope she didn't come down with this..Whew..it was no fun...Tyfs God bless you both
I loved it! Melissa hope you're feeling better! It's probably due to weather changes. Drink plenty of liquids to hydrate. We have had tornadoes around us this past weekend. Plus thunderstorms today (Mon.) - Wed. Not even using heaters at all! The last couple of days! Crazy weather for Jan.! Y'all be safe! Ann from Alabama!
I could not live in such extreme cold weather. I live in Virginia and it's a big deal when we get down into the single digits. Rarely does it get in the minus range and then it's only like minus 1. Lol
Here in the south if you are eating breakfast foodstuff around noontime we call that brunch! OBTW if you said it was 34% F around here we would not call that warm. The body adjust to the climate it resides in. We just had a warm spell in January with temps in the low 60s for about a week and then this morning we woke up to 35% F. I did go out about 1500 hrs and it was around 45% F. As long as you were in the sunshine it felt okay just as long the winds did not hit you. Next week we are having typical January NC weather. A few days in the low 40s and mostly low 50s. But if you had that in Minnesota you would think it was a heat wave!
Man all that food Melissa fixed is making me hungry sage sausage is the best and I have to agree with Melissa crispy bacon is the way to go and the grits I like taking 3 eggs and smashing them in my grits and putting it on toast with orange juice the workshop is looking great
Yes sir fried, runny eggs smashed in some grits with lots of pepper. Sounds like a good bedtime snack tonight, lol!! I like crunchy bacon but no too teeth make it difficult, 😕
Joe, thank you!!! My anxiety level has dropped significantly since you cleaned up the floor of the workshop and started to fill in the gaps. I may sleep a whole night all the way through tonight!!
I'm so impressed with the way your new workshop is coming along! Melissa will always know where you are, that's for sure! Waiting for the next video for sure!
I’ve had many a breakfast for lunch lots of times. I love my bacon , sometimes eggs but mostly biscuits and sausage gravy. You sure get alot of snow up your way. We just had a snow here on Saturday , maybe half an inch but their was lots of ice. Stayed in all day. You are always working. Don’t you ever rest and relax. Sometimes watching you work makes me tired. Love your shows.
I have another one already uploaded and waiting for me to click the publish button and another one after that I need to upload tonight. I have been falling behind so you will be getting a few in a row so I can catch up.
Joe that shop is looking good. That’s a good thing about winter plenty of time for inside projects. Have you thought about an oscillating wall fan to spread the heat around instead of a floor fan? I’m just wondering if it would heat the shop faster mounted behind the stove. Enjoy both your YT channels.
I JUST finished editing an almost 6 minute video explaining why I am not filling them with concrete. This is probably the best comment yet. You are correct. I will upload this short video tonight and then make the next workshop video public after that.
You spoke about the trenches in the floor and a way of covering them over or filling them in... if you are going to be jackhammering the concrete raised areas to level the floor.. why not place the rubble in the trenched areas and then cement over the top of it all to give you a solid and level floor...
Shop is looking great. When you’re finished you can come straighten my shop out!...lay something over that open hole. I know your not finished, I worry about the dogs paw falling in. Thanks Joe.
Did you put the washers in the bottom row of the parts bin? Dad always had the bottom row reserved for washers. It was my favorite row, obviously. There is just so much you can do with them. Great video Joe. The low shot of the stove in the house was cool. The deer are so much fun to watch. Workshop/barn is really coming along. Great work!
Thats funny because yes I did. The one at the hobby farm workshop which has now been moved from house to house for 3 houses I have lived in also has the washers in the bottom row.
Very good video Joe. Work shop is looking good. Take care.
Joe you do great work I sure do enjoy your videos.
The workshop is coming along nicely. You really have to have the ability to see the potential in old buildings to see what they could become.
My five year old son and I watch your videos right before he goes to bed. We enjoy them very much! He said all you need for the new shop is paint on the floor and a new carpet. Lol
Lol. tell him I said hi. Thank you.

Hey what's good Joe. Just want to say thanks for another informative video. I always learn something off your videos. Hey Melissa
The work shop is getting better and better,
I find that the quiet time spent in the workshop is one of the most rewarding of any other activity, at least for me it is.
That is sure a lot nicer than the - 40 we are having up here. Great deal on that sander. Well the shop is coming along nicely and with a good feed like that you will be sleeping like a baby. Thanks for the update,
Enjoyed watching TFS

That floor looks like a good place to run some dust collection pipes around the shop. Might as well use those trenches for something.
I JUST finished editing an almost 6 minute video explaining why I am not filling them with concrete. This is probably the best comment yet. You are correct. I will upload this short video tonight and then make the next workshop video public after that.

Cooking eggs in bacon grease is the best. 😁🇨🇦 Cheers .

NorthernSeclusion ok thanks joe looking forward to it when it happens keeping videos coming 😃
That open end next to the shelving you made . You said you were going to finish it off but it looks like a good place to hang extension cords to me
Did you put the washers in the bottom row of the parts bin? Dad always had the bottom row reserved for washers. It was my favorite row, obviously. There is just so much you can do with them. Just subscribed. I like your set up. Great ideas. We would like to do something similar.
