thank u Lindsay Grove. It's been a long process but things look better each day. Let's has been repaired or replaced since the storm. Howard County Gov has been extremely respectful of the residents & have done so much to help us get back on track. If you ever get the chance, you should visit Ellicott City for a vacation. You won't be disappointed. EC has lots to offer. Main St is the staple of the county but the whole county is a beautiful in its own right. I remember it being a locals town with a few tourist mixed in but since the age of the internet, we have really became a popular tourist destination. We still have some families that have been here for generations, mine included, but in the past decade we've gotten a lot of transplants moving in the area from all over the US. Hopefully the county can figure out a new water drainage system before the next huge rain comes in because it floods on the west end every few years but nothing ever like like on July 30. It last flooded in 2011 & each flood gets worse due to poor drainage of water run off from new construction & the rivers & streams keep filling up with more & more debris from each rain.

My heart goes out to those affect both in 2016 and now this week. Its crazy how some of the damage varied. The building at 3:59 is decimated, another had to be raised off its foundation to be fixed, and others slightly less damage.

You guys need to mandate all these store fronts have reinforced concrete 2-3 feet up to the windows the state should pay for it.. The foundations need to be secured also with rebar and concrete before the dirt is piled back in. While the street is open you should move all the electrical underground. The brick sidewalk is stupid. That should also be replaced with reinforced concrete. If it has to be brick work it can be faux paux concrete with brick texture and red stain..

nobody ever shows the West End Of Ellicott City. Main street exist another half mile west & it complete devastation there also. The West end was flooded first before the shopping district was ever touched. Several rescues took place there long before downtown was flooded but absolutely no coverage. I lost my home & 2 vehicles & both my wife & I were nearly killed but again, no media coverage from ellicott mills Dr to Rogers are.
