Absolutely superb interview with a gaming legend. You’re out-doing yourself MfA! 😎
Why thank you sir.
White Dwarf 222, that one is special to me as well as it was the first White Dwarf, heck, first Hobby Mag I ever bought! It left a big impression. White Dwarf was never the same without Sawyer at the helm and almost certainly never will be. Great interview, good to see the man himself doing well with new ventures.
He's definitely doing well for himself. Cracking job to be head of studio at a place like Warlord.
His White Scars were awesome back in the day loved that era of white dwarf
A lost golden age my friend.
Nice interview! Time Fat Bloke was editor of WD was the time that magazine was best one in this planet!
Also new Finnish for Bolt Action? Maybe even plastic? Oh my, as Finnish Wargamer that is excellent news!
Finger crossed!
@@ModellingforAdvantage Btw, keep up greating great content like this, this was first of your videos I have seen and I was hooked immidiatly! Top quality content!
This was an awesome series of interviews. Fantastic how accessible these guys are. Really feels like even though they own and operate a business, they are still gamers at heart. Amazing
Cheers man, glad you are enjoying them.
That was outstanding fun!
Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Awesome interview !! Absolutely love Paul, thanks again for this video. Paul, thank you for featuring my Zulu armies on the Warlord site way back when :) . Keep up the awesome work
Was a real pleasure to sit down and chat with a wargaming legend.
There are A LOT of guy number 4's out there these days. ROFL Amazing interview. Dear god more please. I'm not from the UK so I have no attachment or knowledge of Paul Sawyer but that was a fun video to watch and I learned something from it too.
Glad you enjoyed it mate. We have some video of the casting processing in the works too.
Great summary of the history of Warlord!
Thanks, it wad nice to sit down and talk through all that.
Big thanks gents, very informative
Glad you enjoyed it mate.
Great interview, thanks for posting. I still hold Paul sawyer and his ‘lure of the gods’ white dwarf series responsible for the immense fortune I have invested in wargaming products over the years
We all have such stories, those articles that drew us in - and dug into our pockets!
he use to be my trade sales manager !! ;)
What was it like?
Nice
Great interview lads. Really enjoyable watch/listen. Solid work!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening mate.
WELL DONE...THANK U...
Thank you too!
great interview guys
Thanks Nick, glad you enjoyed it mate.
Ooh, fabulous interview - very interesting! Huge fan of Warlord - I didn't know they had Slaine coming out! I was an avid 2000AD reader back in the day, I hope they do ABC Warriors, Nemesis and maybe even Rogue Trooper too.
I'd love for Warlord to release some scenario books for their Judge Dredd game with each one covering a particular major storyline from the comics, so The Judge Child Quest, The Apocalypse War etc. Being able to recreate Dredd vs Sov-Judges amongst the ruins of Mega-City One is something I'd love to be able to play.
Rogue Trooper!
Used to love reading the White Dwarf when Paul was Editor. Third War for Armageddon was fantastic.
Indeed. Different times.

Thanks mate.
Another great interview. Love all the insight.
Yeah some juicy bits in there.
Great interview.
Thanks, it was nice ot hear all that history.
Really interesting interview, great job, love this type of content :-)
We really want to do more of this, but obviously, we need to find companies that will talk to us!
Great interview and got excited when I heard mountain troops :)
I think it is good for the long term relationship between MFA and Warlord that you were mindful of their 100 Days Epic release schedule and understandable desire to control the release of information. Looking forward to more content like this on the future :)
Oh mate, the stuff was everywhere in the factory - you couldn't miss it...
@@ModellingforAdvantage did Johnny B subject it to his famous bend test or as it is plastic did he ignore it ? :)
I hope they remember Bicycles for the Finns !!!!!! 🤨 Great vid guys :)
I want skis!
Nice
Thanks
How many ways are there for youtube closed captions to try to represent jagdtiger? "yank target", "arc tiger", "yag zakker"...
hahaha
Great interview! Interesting to hear the comments on the new Italians especially the small arms being mentioned. I like the new plastics however for some "rivet" counting: Ive no idea why they chose the M91/41 rifle which was not produced and issued in significant numbers until 1942, over the standard M91 which would allow you to use these figures back to Spain and up until 1945. The previews for the new San Marco Marines show them with Moschetto 91/38, when they were issued as standard with M91 TS the Italian Navies issue rifle variant. The smocks in the released plastic set are identfied as Camiciotto Sahariana but are more like the M1940 Anorak/Windcheater not available to most Infantry units until later in the war. Now I really like the new Italians and that they are splitting the different units into seperate sets but they are not unfortunately totally "mistake" free as stated.
Not really sure what to say. Paul seemed to think their guy knows his onions... I know for sure that I don't.
I always thought that Warlords Roman's where specifically for Warhammer Ancients.
Yeah , me too.
British commandos on sky’s 🙏
I assume you means Skis here? I would liek that too!
I can't believe they made Paul Sawyer redundant.
Yeah, seems like the lost a lot of talent back then.
Sad news about Paul's health. He has a great legacy in the wargames hobby.
Yeah, very sad news.
D10 instead of D6 gives you room for fumbles and crits as well as just win and lose.
Yeah, I am torn, still have an emotional and irrational attachment to d6.
what ever haoopned to adrin wood... the ork man
Alien abduction?
Fat bloke!!
He was a great guy.
