We’re back with an update on our fixer upper! Take a walk through the house, see choices for flooring, paint, etc, and view 3D design plans for the finished project!
Oh Jessa and Ben, I'm so excited for you guys and your family. I hope you understand some of us enjoy your experiences and watching as your family grows and experiences new things. All the outside noise of others is absolutely ridiculous. Keep us posted. I was so excited when this popped up. It's coming along so well and cant wait for the next update.
Yep…the second placement of the stove and hood is the best placement, loved the way it looks and what a great choice you made ! Your house will be beautiful and it will show all the time and thoughtful decisions you made. Can’t wait to see the finished tour ❤️
Jessa, your home is going to be beautiful. I would suggest mostly drawers on lower kitchen cabinets, starting with shallow on top, for all your wraps, cling, foil etc, so much easier, and deeper below for pots and pans and baking dishes. Keeps you from having to reach into cabinets and things are in back hard to reach, not so much bending over, we have mostly drawers, a few cabinet doors with pull out shelves, saves your back or getting down on your hands and knees to get things.
Another really cool thing I've seen for little ones is a refrigerated drawer in the island so they can get drinks and cold snacks themselves without having to open and close the fridge or risking spills.
Looks great. I do LOVE a window in a bathroom and especially a laundry room. The more natural light and ability to open a window for fresh air, the better I like it! 😊
It all looks beautiful. We just bought a house and remodeled the entire house just like you. It's a lot of work but the end result is going to be so rewarding. A home is what you make it. This is going to be so beautiful! I remember having to make all those decisions, placement of appliances, colors for paint and backsplash, flooring, and focal points. Its a lot of work, especially all the delays these days with shipments. Your doing a great job. Love your 3D app. I wish I had that before. It is so helpful with the final look without all the imagination of what it might be. Excited to see the final results, and excited for you all to move in and to enjoy your new home as much as we love ours! ❤️
I absolutely love the ironing board in the wall. Its one of those things that Make a house a home, because it brings warmth to the laundry room....Great floor pics.

The house is just perfect. I love the size and the design you have chosen. So much more space for your family. The kitchen layout is perfect. Love the sink under the window and the stove in the middle. The tile and flooring choice is great also. It all looks so nice together. What a great idea of having a spot in the laundry room for everyone's clothes. Not having to fold and take to each room is really going to cut down on some time for you. Love that you are so organized and know just what you want to do with the house. So excited to see the finished product. Happy for you guys.
My question is-the kids rooms are on the other side of house. Clothes have to get over there so why not put them in the closets so kids can dress in their own rooms?
I LOVE your new house and I think you are really going to enjoy all that extra new space! I think your second kitchen plan was definitely the right choice! Also, I love your laundry room and think you will be so happy you added in the extra doorway to your bedroom - you'll use it all the time - great idea! The only thing I would have changed is NOT taking the big window out of the laundry room - I think you would have enjoyed the light and being able to watch the kids playing in the back yard while you worked in there sometimes? But, it's a beautiful house and I can't wait for you to get it finished and move it - it's going to be life changing for your sweet family!
So happy for you and your family you've been living so tiny and making sacrifices that happy God has blessed you with a larger home. PS you might regret not having a window in the laundry room it makes it not so tedious to have of you while doing chores. Hope you get to move in soon. 😊🏡
not really genius. Are you going to have the kids change in the laundry room? The boys can put their own clothes away and they along with Ivy are old enough to get themselves dressed. Plus the two bedrooms for the kids are side by side.
@@robinepowell I believe the kids go gather up their outfits and change in their rooms. This system simplifies the whole laundry routine, which we all know so well. Lol. It'll be easier for keeping each child's wardrobe down to a minimum and easier to organize hand-me-downs.
@@robinepowell My guess is that the kids share clothes which is why one closet makes the most sense. If you watched 19 Kids and Counting, they had a similar system with one big master closet.
Oh how fun! And super exciting! This house will be such a blessing for all of you. I am sure your plants will also enjoy some bonus spaces. 😁💗💗 I think the second kitchen plan that you chose had more cabinets and in the long run, you'll be happier with. Lots of cabinets help when you need to store food and this gives you that option.
I'm so glad your doing family closet if it worked when you were a kid it will work so good with just 4 kids. I love the house so happy for you and Ben and the kiddos. Stay well yall

With your growing family the extra space is going to be such a tremendous blessing.It’s going to be beautiful and although renovations can be stressful at times it’s mostly so much fun especially when you get to the design portions of the home and you and Jana have such great taste in design.Your floors will be beautiful. Can’t wait to see what tile you pick for the shower and kitchen backsplash.Your family will make so many wonderful special memories in your new home and entertaining others will be better I’m sure then it was in your smaller home especially when you have your entire family over at once lol Congratulations once again on your beautiful home.Can’t wait to see the rest of the process til it’s complete.Just think of all the plants you’ll have room for now lol Blessings to your beautiful family❤️🤗

Love the layout of your new home. I would keep the windows in master bath and laundry room for ventilation and I am sure you will be spending a lot of time in laundry room. Plus you can put plants in those rooms🤣🤣

Everything looks great except I would have left the window in the laundry room and in the master bathroom. Natural light coming in and the ability to look out is always the best!
I hope you are going to have an over hang on the island for the kids to have their chairs pulled under so they can eat easier. But everything looks great! Happy thsy you added the master entrance to the laundry room. And love the idea of the stove being on the back wall.

that was great I have been checking almost on a daily see how you're progressing. It looks wonderful With all the chaos and bad news happening every where all over the world I appreciate having positive updates to look forward to like the excitement of your new home. I can hardly wait to see the end results. As always thanks for sharing I always seem to feel lighter and brighter after seeing your joyful family.
Suggestions - Put two sinks in your kitchen, each with a disposal and put the disposal switch (button) on the countertop. So much easier for a helper to prep food and clean up while the cook is busy in her own area at the main sink. You have room for a medium sized secondary sink (larger than a traditional prep sink.) You will wonder how you ever functioned with one sink and faucet. You would love touch faucets, too. Just takes a few days to get comfortable with them. Under counter lighting would be great. Very little extra cost to add these suggestions, especially while the kitchen is under construction. An alternative to installing two sinks is to install two touch faucets over one large sink or one large divided sink. Works perfectly in our current house and no loss of water pressure. Enjoy!
That looks amazing, your soul sister (my wife) said hi and says it looks amazing as well. Love all the tile choices as well, we are in the final stages of our home remodel in central Arkansas. Tell Ben hi as well.
I'm so happy for you, this look like it's going to be a lovely home for your family 😊 The only thing I would have done was move the front door so it didn't open up infront of the fireplace. If you moved the door along to where the play area is you could add a boot room area as you come in and the living room would stay tidier without coats and shoes.

I'm so happy for you, this look like it's going to be a lovely home for your family 😊 The only thing I would have done was move the front door so it didn't open up infront of the fireplace. If you moved the door along to where the play area is you could add a boot room area as you come in and the living room would stay tidier without coats and shoes.
